Hallo Hive Food friends!
These are my first-ever capers I've cured, harvested today, and jarred in water, salt and vinegar.
These are some of the beautiful cascading plants, which I picked from. They are at the other end of my street from my arthouse.
I also picked nasturtium seeds, to see how they will cure in the same liquid:
It is a glorious time of year just now, to harvest fresh food... and it's such a blessing and enrichment to eat food just-picked. So very full of Life.
I'll report back when the capers are ready... cannot wait! I've been paying €1 per tub for tiny wee quantities, from the local shop.... it'll be glorious to be using ones picked from within a few metres from my kitchen, and cured by hand 😍😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚
