SAUTE PAPAYA LEAVES
Hello Foodies!
How are you today? I hope everyone is doing good!
A few days ago I went back to my hometown to see my mother. I only stayed about 3 days, because I only got 3 days off. While at home, I help my mother cook. Because we live in a village with lots of fields, it's very easy to get vegetables to cook. One of my favorite vegetables is papaya leaves. Have you ever eaten food made from papaya leaves? If not, then I will share the recipe and how to make sauteed papaya leaves. Let's get the recipe!
THE INGREDIENTS
- Papaya leaves
- Cassava leaves (To get rid of the bitter taste of papaya leaves, we have to mix it with cassava leaves)
- Chilies (According to your taste)
- 5 cloves of Shallot
- 3 cloves of Garlic
- 1 teaspoon of Salt
- 1 teaspoon of Flavoring
- 2 tablespoon of Cooking Oil
- Sugar
HOW TO COOK IT?
STEP 1
Boil papaya leaves and cassava leaves until tender
STEP 2
Wash the boiled papaya leaves then squeeze the papaya leaves so that the water drains
STEP 3
Cut the papaya leaves into small pieces
STEP 4
Heat the oil and saute the garlic, shallots, and chilies
STEP 5
Pour a little water then add all the spices
STEP 6
Add the papaya leaves and stir well. Cook for a few minutes until the spices are absorbed
How was that? Easy, right? I hope you like it and interested to try this recipe!
By the way, although cassava leaves function to remove the bitter taste in papaya leaves when boiled together, the bitter taste of papaya leaves is not completely lost. There is still a bitter taste in papaya leaves but it is slightly reduced.
