Welcome to generosesity blogs ep. 12!
Halo-halo is a Filipino term that means mixed up together. This is the term that led to the recipe of a famous dessert and also named Halo-halo.
In our local area, we have this well-known place because of its original taste of halo-halo.
Victoria's Halo-halo is located in San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu. They are known because of their affordable and delicious halo-halo. Their place is very accessible since it is on the roadside. The setting of their dine-in place is on the rooftop. We're lucky because their place is just near (but not so near) to our place, and that makes it very accessible to us, and whenever we crave for it, it's not miles away so we can just walk to get there.
They have three different variants of their halo-halo. These are regular, special, and super special. Our favorite one is the special because of its good taste and great size. I just love the combination of sugar, crushed ice, and other fruits. It is really perfect for a person like me who loves to beat the heat. Also, during summer days their place is really full of customers because their halo-halo can really satisfy your cravings.
Let me introduce to you their special halo-halo. It contains some bits of crackers and ice cream on top of it, crushed ice on the next layers with evaporated milk, and jackfruit with sliced mangoes and bananas at the very bottom. One thing that I don't like when mixed with halo-halo is peanut. That is why our order must not have peanuts. I like peanuts to be eaten just as is but I don't like it when mixed with other foods. I love the perfect combinations of their ingredients. I really crave their halo-halo, especially during humid and summer days. Just a fun fact, my partner used to eat the ice cream at the top first before mixing. I asked him why he answered me that "it is the real purpose of the ice cream on top, you are to eat it first". While me, I mixed it all including the ice cream because it's what my parents taught me when I was a kid. I just knew that way, and there is no certain rule or instructions on how to eat halo-halo so I think you can eat and do whatever you want as long as you are satisfied with it.
My family is my best company. They are with me during the lowest point of my life and celebrated with me when I am at the highest point. This place is already part of my life since it is one of our family bonding places. We share and talk about a lot of things in this place while eating our halo-halo. I am really happy that I have a family that understands my every point of view. The way they listen to me when I talk and give their suggestions whenever I needed them. They never left me, and gave me everything I need, especially to my all-out parents. How about you? Who is/are your best company?
