One of the things we love to do as a team is go on eat outs and try newly-opened food stalls and restaurants. Come with me today as I try the famous "pater". It was my first time tasting this kind of dish and it surprised me.
Pater Sa Tisa - Cebu IT Park Branch
There were a lot of customers when we went there, this store had a second floor and it was full of people as well so I was intrigued as to why the hype. It is about time for me to try this for the first time. I ordered a pater with creamy beef as its toppings.
Creamy Beef Pater
"Pater" is a Filipino Muslim traditional food originating in Mindanao. Pater is a Maguindanaon food consisting of rice with several toppings and it is wrapped in banana leaves. Lately, pater became known here in Cebu City as well. One of the pater stores near us is this "Pater sa Tisa" located at the back of the Teleperformance Building, Cebu IT Park, Cebu City, Philippines.
Pater Variations
There are different pater toppings available such as :
• Creamy beef
• Chicken
• Spicy beef
• Crab meat
The Pater sa Tisa store here in Cebu IT Park also offers refreshers such as fruit shakes. Great way to refresh after that pater meal.
How to eat Pater?
- First, open the banana leaves.
- Spread the palapa - that sauce in a small cup which is a mixture of garlic, onion, chili, and other spices. The palapa adds more flavor to the pater. I added the whole cup because I am such a fan of spicy foods.
- Mix it well - then indulge!
Since it was my first time trying our pater I would say it was a seven over ten. It tastes good but I couldn't say it is my favorite. But the taste is okay. I would love to try other flavors.
Best thing about eating out with your workmates after work is the feeling of sharing your thoughts and feelings with them after a long day of work and sharing some good food and good stories. I am looking forward for more team eat outs. How about you, have you tried eating pater?
