How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to participate and contribute again in the Foodies Be Hive Community. This time, I would like to happily share my culinary experience at one of the newest ramen restaurants in Medan City, the city where I live.
RamenYa Sun Plaza Medan
I love noodles and I enjoy every moment I taste and eat noodles. I always take the time to try various noodle dishes that I have come across in this world. Talking about noodles, cannot be separated from culinary stories and traditions for the people of China and East Asia. We certainly know that East Asia, such as China, Korea and Japan, has delicious noodle culinary traditions.
For example, ramaen in the Japanese culinary tradition, through pop culture such as manga, anime, and Japanese movie or TV shows are becoming very famous all over the world today. In Medan City Indonesia alone, there are already lots of local ramen restaurants or franchised ramen restaurants that are doing business in my city. One of the new and viral ramen restaurants in my city is RamenYa.
Yesterday evening, I visited one of the RamenYa outlets located at Sun Plaza Medan. I plan to have dinner with my wife there and at the same time taste the ramen menu at that restaurant. I heard that RamenYa is a ramen restaurant that has a delicious menu at affordable prices in Indonesia.
The situation of the ramen restaurant was very crowded that night. We didn't get a table and ended up waiting on the waiting list. There was about 15 queues to get a table in that place. Sun Plaza Medan is always crowded on weekends, but we can't wait.
Menu and Ordering System
After waiting for about 15 minutes, we got a seat to dine in at this Japanese restaurant. The ordering system at RamenYa still uses a conventional order system. We sit at a table, the waiter brings us menus. After that, we order to the waiter and we will pay when we finish eating and want to leave this ramen restaurant.
For food menu choices at RamenYa Ramen Restaurant, this is very complete. RamenYa does not only present ramen but various other Japanese dishes, such as konburi, chicken katsu don, and karage don which seem very delicious. For the drink menu choices, there are several signature drinks. However, I suggest ordering cold ocha, because iced ocha can be refilled if it runs out.
Beef Ramen Original
I ordered three different ramen menus and one serving of gyoza. I will discuss the first menu first, namely Beef Ramen Original which I ordered. Beef Ramen Original is a type of dry ramen and does not use broth. Usually, ramen like this is made using sesame oil, soy sauce and spices and then topping slices of beef, fried eggs and also pieces of nori.
I immediately tasted this dish. The taste of the noodles is savory and a little too salty for me. But I can still enjoy and eat it. Moreover, the cuts of meat used for this dish are very abundant. I can be satisfied to eat this ramen.
My favorite part is the fried egg. I really like the orange part of the egg yolk and it's cooked to this texture. Apparently, the eggs used by this restaurant are high-quality eggs because the yolks are very bright in color. When the ramen came to my table, it was this fried egg that I ate first.
Chicken Popcorn Ramen
Next, I tried my wife's ramen order, which is Chicken Popcorn Ramen. Just like my first order, this Chicken Popcorn Ramen is a dry rame type. One bowl of dry ramen is sprinkled with fried chicken topping and fried egg topping.
It tastes similar to the original beef ramen menu order that I ordered. The difference lies in the chicken meat used. The taste of this ramen is also very delicious, salty and savory balance and very enjoyable to eat.
Spicy Hot Ramen
Because we realized that two bowls of noodles would not fill us up. We decided to order a soup type ramen menu. This Spicy Hot Ramen consists of a bowl of noodles with shoyu sauce which is very tasty and delicious. This ramen is also equipped with pieces of chicken and boiled eggs.
The taste of this ramen is very spicy and also very refreshing. Once you sip this ramen broth, the spicy taste immediately attacks your brain and tongue. The spicy taste of this ramen sauce does not make us give up eating it. My wife and I were scrambling to finish this portion of the ramen. The taste of the ramen is also very delicious.
