Ola Foodies Bee Hive!! It's been a while since I last posted here.
Recently, I felt fed up eating the same menu each day and my mouth crave for something new, something sweet and sour. The first food that came my mind was sweet and sour meatballs because I love the combination flavors of pineapple and tomatoes.
Let's start this cooking!
All you need are...
Ingredients:
- Minced pork
- Bell peppers (green and yellow)
- White onions
- Sliced pinapple (save the juice)
- Ketchup
- Vinegar, Mirin, and sugar (optional)
Procedure:
- Marinate the pork with a little bit soy sauce and salt depending on your taste preference. Add some flour or eggwhite.
- Mix the minced pork well to distribute the seasonings. Then make meatballs.
- Shallow fry the meatballs using small amount of oil until they turn light brown.
- Put the fried meatballs in a baking pan and bake them for about 10 minutes just to cook the middle part of meatballs.
- While waiting the meatballs to be done, you can prepare the sauce and cook the bell peppers and onions.
- For the sauce: just mix the pineaple juice with 4 tbsp. ketchup, 2 tbsp. vinegar, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. mirin (vinegar, sugar, and mirin are optional. You can ommit them and just make a sauce using the igredients you want.)
- Once the bell peppers and onions are half-cooked, add the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Then add meatballs into it and mix well until they are fully coated with the sauce.
- Serve while it is still hot.
Here's the finish product.
So easy and healthier as it doesn't need deep frying meatballs. You can try this too.
Enjoy!
Thank you for your time.
