I have reaped an overabundance of peppers this year. Far more than I will ever eat by myself fresh.
A few months ago I put up 2 jars just peppers in hot spiced vinegar. They are okay, but really lose their taste
I've eaten them raw in salads (unfortunately, my dentures make eating salads problematic, at least the leafy parts) and I add them to nearly everything I cook (store bought pizza)
Faced with a countertop covered with green banana peppers turning red, dark green Poblano peppers some also ripening red, I was flummoxed to think of what to do with them.
Until I remember seeing herbs, peppers and spices strung up in Old World Kitchens, so...
Did this one yesterday with sewing thread
(then got artsy with the photo)
Yesterday afternoon I visited some friends who have a garden and CHICKENS in the yard, she gave me some Brazilian Eggplant that had gone red, so the recipes didn't seem to apply, but they is sure pretty. I included them in todays string
Now my window is colorful on both sides
I'm thinking the eggplants are too fleshy and will spoil before they dry out, therefore they'll have to be removed, but until then.
They is purdy, don'cha think?
At present I have no food crops in the ground (other than a few radish from last spring leftover)
Rosemary and Thyme (or is that Oregano?) hanging in there
In two different places
I had intended to put in some Mustard Greens, but the way this Fall has progressed, I doubt I will have the energy to fight outside with the elements.
