It's Malaysia's Independence Day today. That only means, my husband will be up super early to watch the parade while I get to sleep in till whatever time. I was on my bed till 11.30am and I LOVE IT!
Happy Birthday Malaysia, from the Lees!
My husband got tickets to watch a Malaysian movie called Air Force The Movie, Selagi Bernyawa (while still breathing), a movie we must watch. So, we decided to head out for lunch too as I'm so lazy to cook and my husband being so brilliant chose Miss Ellie's Teahouse!! I was elated and immediately jumped out of bed and said, LET'S GO!
This is the movie we watched, Air Force The Movie paying tribute to Malaysian Royal Air Force for their dedication and sacrifice
Miss Ellie's Teahouse is located at Taman Melawati amongst a housing area. Just a small shop lot and it looks really simple and pretty from the outside. Once you enter, you're transported into mini England! Well, that's what I feel when I'm there. I've been to England a few times and it really does bring back memories of walking into a cosy cafes with beautiful smelling scones and lovely British décor. This is exactly why I love Miss Ellie's Teahouse.
They've been around for a number of years and since Day 1, they've maintained their food quality which brings us back all the time. Today is the first time we're dining in since the pandemic. During the pandemic, we've frequently takeaway meals to enjoy them at home but nothing beats having it fresh out of the kitchen.
our glorious food for today! I wish I can have more but my tummy wouldn't allow
Pesto Pasta with Prawns. This is a seriously MUST HAVE. The spaghetti is cooked al dente mixed in their pesto sauce which is one of the best I've ever had in Malaysia, served with 4 big prawns. How generous! It also has enoki mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and shredded parmesan cheese
pan seared salmon on a bed of spinach drizzled with balsamic vinegar and lovely mashed potatoes that's so smooth and buttery, served with a mayo based sauce and dill. Salmon was cooked perfectly and I'm happy I have my Omega 3! 😂
Coming to Miss Ellie's, you must have their scones. We always have them when we're there. This plain and raisin scones with clotted cream and marmalade. The taste really resembles the one I had in England, really really close! Just beautiful

The beautiful interior.
Too bad I did not have any dessert as we lack the time due to our movie. But they have an array of desserts that are delicious and worth your calories! I did not manage to take any photos of the dessert area, and people coming in and out. The next time I go there, I wanna have their lamb shank. I remember having it during the pandemic at home and it made me crave it even more.
It was a good and relaxing day! I rested, chilled, and took it slow. Much needed! Hope you all had a great day too.
