I have always characterized myself by loving the simple and straightforward; however, for the kitchen I constantly find myself in a dilemma: I love to eat a lot and delicacies but when cooking I want what is fast and practical; that is why I lean towards rice when it comes to savory dishes, the safest thing in life is that for every cup of rice, two of water, this rule learned from our grandparents and parents checks the practicality of rice.
The recipe that I present below is made based on 20 people; You can adapt it to your taste by adding flavor enhancers such as dehydrated chicken broths, commonly called "cubitos" in Venezuela, or keep it much healthier with 100% natural dressings. For this you will need:
1 ½ Kg de arroz.
10 salchichas.
½ Kg jamón.
1 cebolla.
1 pimentón.
200 gr de ají dulce.
1 rama de apio España.
2 Kg pollo.
1 caldo de pollo deshidratados (opcional)
1 sobre de colorante o zanahoria rallada.
1 lata de maíz pequeña.
1 ½ kg of rice
10 sausages
½ kg ham
1 onion
1 paprika
200 gr of sweet pepper
1 branch of celery Spain
2 kg chicken
1 dehydrated chicken broth (optional)
1 sachet of coloring or grated carrot.
1 small can of corn.
First of all, it is recommended to fry the chicken, the sausages and the ham separately; this will allow it to be much crispier when cooking it later with the rice.
Saute well all the vegetables previously diced (onion, paprika, Spanish celery and chili). The latter is the king of natural condiments in Venezuela. It also has antioxidant properties, contains vitamins and is anti-inflammatory. Once these vegetables are browned, add the rice and stir for about 2 or 3 minutes, then add the water that you can measure in a bowl, it would be exactly double the amount of rice. Incorporate the rest of the ingredients such as chicken, sausages, ham, corn and coloring. Finally add salt to taste and cook over low heat. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite beverage.
