Lush Green Urban Forest Svarga Flora Coffee & Plant

Throughout October, the city has had its high temperature. It felt like everyone lived inside a monstrous oven that baked us all alive. To lounge and run away from the heat, there are not that many green space cafe/coffee shop in the city center that offers comforting and cooling atmosphere. Almost greenery and lush green scenes are located outskirt of the city. However, amid a very jam packed road, there’s a small cafe/coffee shop offering a view of green space that not only boost your mood but also protect you from the sun.

Svarga Flora Coffee & Plants has a concept that combines green space and urban forest. The entrance of the place was a short corridor before the main hall and eventually the bar and the cashier to order the drinks. It was only one step away from the sun and the traffic, lies this enchanting forest-alike atmosphere.

For a coffee shop, they don’t have that many indoor area nor air conditioned place. It was similar styled as in Bali where pretty much of the building was kept open. But don’t worry, they also provide fan that rotate throughout the building in some areas. This place has opened for quite a while but only today I got the chance to check it out. In fact, a few years ago, I didn’t know such place exist because the location was quite nestled from the road and the only way to notice is through the sign board.

Since many areas are mostly open, there are a lot more place that are free to smoke. It can be annoying for some because in Indonesia, people smoke a lot. But if you want to avoid areas like that, there are only a few non-smoking spots and are mostly on the 2nd floor of the building. In my opinion, the highlight of the place would be the center.

Behind where I was sitting, there was artificial fountain that flows to a tiny pond. It was surrounded with house plants that thankfully aren’t fake. The conifers in the place was also plenty and they grow well. So, while I was there, I could hear the sound from the fountain which was quite meditative.

In the place, what I find interesting was the bean bags that are used as the chair. This reminds me a lot of a typical co-working spot in Bali. And from when I was there, there were a few people in their laptop but most are just chit-chatting with their friends. When I got inside the place, I was quite startled since I did not know where to order but I eventually found a shack-like room where I was greeted by friendly server and baristas.

While screening through the menu and though it was scorching hot, I ended up going for their cappuccino. And I quietly hope it would be served on a nice cup. Thankfully, it did and the mug was quite big. Another thing to note in this place is that they don’t accept cash and relies on QR code which was convenient. It’s nice that now in the country they’re doing more scan and slowly less reliant on cash.

I was also surprised that the coffee price was relatively lower compared to many coffee shops nearby. It could be because they’re keeping it simple with the place whilst also saving quite a bit on their energy. It’s unfortunate that they have lower rating because the place for people who enjoys urban forest, it was quite decent. I do enjoy the breeze inside the place and also the coffee which was surprisingly good. I haven’t been to many places like that and this is now, a favorite place of mine to have a good coffee under the shade of plants.
