After visiting many coffee shops and cafe in town, I finally found a place with the cleanest toilet and using American standard brands. I would say, this is such a rarity. And well, just like their toilet, their menu is such a rarity as well, at least in this small town.
There are not many waffle place in town. I tried some but they were all sub-par. Surprisingly that one plate of vanilla ice cream waffle was great. After getting from the pharmacy, I was craving a really good breakfast. So, I started researching places in town with great breakfast. Eventually, I found this place called Comu Coffee. Obviously, their main specialty is coffee but they have various brunches options and also teas. They even have cotton candy coffee. I am not sure how that would taste but it looked interesting.
Today I was extremely sleepy. I woke up around 3 AM and then stayed awake until now. So, I needed something strong that will keep me up before I go to bed again. So, I ordered a manual brew coffee "kalita flat" from flores, Indonesia. The coffee has sour apple aroma with earthy aftertaste.
I think their coffee tray is so amazing. I was paying 20.000IDR for that coffee and they give little chocolate pastries and free water. The price is so worth it given that in many places, you won't even get pastry for 20.000 IDR.
The baristas were friendly, communicative, and pro-active. They were recommending things and has pleasant voice. The place itself is quiet, has pleasant atmosphere and also perfect for a working space. It's perfect for working because each table has socket, they also offer wifi without us asking. Though I never use the wifi in coffee shop, I still find it nice that they instantly tell me the password. Not many places in this little town do it. I ended up staying in this place until lunch time.
I ordered a bowl of salted egg. This salted egg was crunchy and the salted egg sauce was done nicely. I like the touch of chives on it. I paired this an iced tropical coffee. So, it's basically a cappuccino but using fruity based espresso with coconut milk. They also offer plenty interesting coffee variant, like cotton candy coffee. If you thought avocado coffee is strange, I think cotton candy coffee is even weirder.
Then after that, I received a call from Ray who told me that our aunt is taking us for mini getaway. And from that place, our aunt is taking us to a strange area that I have no idea why it was crowded the first place. I think that place was the first spot that I didn't understand its charm and wondered why people went there.
I didn't finish the coffee, so I ordered the barista to put it in the cup so I can drink them later.
I was surprised they did not charge me anything for the cup. I wanted to go back to this place again in the future before I am moving back to my own place again.Anyway, I will tell you an absurd place I visited in my next post.
