Agar-agar is a mouth dessert with a chewy and dense texture, in contrast to jelly which has a chewy texture that tends to be soft, as well as pudding which has many flavors. Tonight I will share the recipe with all of you how to cook my version of jelly. And usually when I cook the jelly, the texture is a little mushy and watery like jelly, but today I made this jelly which is denser and softer when I eat it, like approaching the time of making pudding. And today I'm even more excited to make jelly because I've bought a new jelly mold with a sunflower image on it.
Too excited is not a good thing. I experienced this myself while making this jelly, I forgot that this mold is new and I have never used it at all and this mold is made of plastic. My habit is after I buy a mold I will smear the mold with coconut oil only once because this mold is made of plastic so it doesn't stick. However, because of that forgetfulness, I didn't smear the mold with oil so that when my jelly had cooled down and I would take it out of the mold, the jelly wouldn't come out of the mold.. ha..ha.. sad 😔
Even though it didn't take me 10 minutes to make this Agar but the failure at the end caused my agar to look ugly, but don't doubt the taste, because it's a hundred percent successful. That's great. Well, no need to linger in my sadness about the unclear shape of Agar-Agar I will share the recipe with you guys
Necessary materials :
1. 1 pack of Agar-Agar without color
2. 250 Grams of Sweet Corn
3. 1 pack of 65 ml instant coconut milk
4. 3 cups of water or approximately 500 ml
5. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
6. 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar or according to taste
How to make :
1. Grated sweet corn
2. Mix all ingredients together except for instant coconut milk
3. Stir over low heat until it boils for about 5 minutes
4. After a little boil add instant coconut milk
5. After the mixture boils, remove it
6. The dough can be directly put into the mold
7. Wait until the dough is cold
8. You can enjoy the cold dough immediately or store it in the refrigerator
That was the way to make my version of Agar-Agar which was very easy and didn't take up your time, right? Here, I will explain a little about the agar, which must continue to be stirred until it boils and don't stay so that the bottom dough doesn't burn.
Then in this recipe I mix cornstarch so that the agar-agar that is made has a dense texture and does not have water so it is more beautiful and when eaten it is also softer.
That's all for today's recipe, good luck.
