Still in the atmosphere of the month of Ramadan which is always awaited by Muslims every year. The month is full of patience tests in it. and for children, this month of Ramadan is a month full of joy where they can choose a lot of food they like before breaking their fast. because they have just learned to fast a full day. And for today's iftar menu I have left fried foods and switched to sweet foods. And today I will make a very simple recipe that does not take more than 45 minutes to cook with very simple ingredients, no more than 5 ingredients, all of which are easy to get.
Have you ever heard or made compote. This compote is a sweet coconut milk food and is a favorite menu to serve when breaking the fast, especially for people whose age has started to enter their 40s and over. Not only bananas that can be used as compote, pumpkin, cassava, sweet potato or kolang kaling, or other ingredients that may be in your country more than mine,
Well without wasting much time I will share this simple compote recipe.
Materials needed :
1. 500 grams of banana wrapped in bunches. (any banana you like)
2. 200 grams of Palm Sugar
3. 1 Liter of Coconut Milk
How to make :
1. Peel the banana and cut it into two parts so that when the compote is made, the banana will not be crushed.
2. Boil bananas with a little water (approximately one cup)
3. Boil the bananas for about 2 minutes
4. While waiting for the bananas to be boiled, cut the palm sugar into thin strips to make it easier to dissolve into the water
5. After that, enter the palm sugar
6. Stir gently until smooth
7. After that, add the coconut milk and let it simmer until it boils.
8. Banana compote is ready to be served.
This compote can be served while it is still hot, or it can also be added to ice cubes or put in the refrigerator. It's up to you which one you like, and what's clear is that whether the compote served hot or cold, everything tastes delicious, especially since this compote is made with affection and love for your beloved family.
Then if you avoid coconut milk, you can replace it with liquid white milk.
or you can modify this compote by mixing grass jelly or sago pearls or colorful jelly to make it more attractive in appearance.
And if you like sweet foods you can add more sugar to the compote you make. The point is there is no standard measure to make this compote.
