Still in the atmosphere of Ramadan entering the 13th day of fasting today. I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks for us Muslims to fast in Ramadan every year. And usually the atmosphere during Ramadan is very crowded unlike ordinary days. Because usually during Ramadan now people will walk together in the afternoon while waiting for the sunset beduk to arrive. The term walking around while waiting for the sunset drum is known as Ngabuburit. Ngabuburit is even more exciting if it is done by friends, or family so that the time that passes will not be felt later.
Because every Ramadan fast in Indonesia takes 15 hours without eating and drinking, we need new menus that can stimulate our appetite. And if we only follow our passions to avenge us after a day of not eating and drinking, and when we break our fast we eat all kinds of food without consideration, usually after entering the 14th day, many have caught colds, or acute dehydration and other diseases such as acid reflux. Even though fasting is very healthy for the body if it is done properly.
This afternoon I hung out with my husband to look for the iftar menu that we hadn't eaten for the past 2 weeks. And our choice fell on the Nasi Bakar menu. And does your area or country sell this grilled rice menu? Grilled rice is not like fried rice which only comes from ordinary rice then fried or grilled. If the fried rice is from ordinary rice then the case is different with this grilled rice. This grilled rice comes from Nasi Lemak or rice which in the cooking process has been mixed with coconut milk, resulting in a savory taste. Can you imagine how it feels? The rice that has been mixed with coconut milk can be known as nasi lemak. If the rice is just delicious and savory without any mixture, what if it's mixed with spices or other additions... hmmm, it's very tempting.
The cooked nasi lemak was then filled with various fillings, including anchovies, squid, meat and chicken stuffing. However, because we were very late in the afternoon and it was getting close to sunset, the remaining merchandise in that place was rice with anchovy filling. and shredded chicken. The rice that has been filled with various fillings is then rolled up using banana leaves and grilled using wood charcoal. Can you imagine how fragrant the roasted rice would be? And do you know how much that roasted rice costs?
1 roll of grilled rice with 1 adult portion is only valued at Rp. 5000 is very cheap for one serving with a full stomach. After the maghrib beduq sounded and it was time to break the fast, I couldn't wait to taste the grilled rice. And the taste is really good, the salty and savory and spicy taste is just right, especially if the rice is eaten with the filling. Not until 5 minutes of the grilled rice was immediately finished. I'm so sorry I didn't buy much for stock. Maybe tomorrow I will buy it again.
That was our iftar menu today, and I closed it with a glass of burberry syrup which is famous in my country, namely Kurnia syrup.. hurray, happy fasting to Muslims around the world. Greetings from us, Tomi and Maya from Binjai City, Indonesia. Healthy and happy always for all of us. Thank you for supporting us and don't miss our next exciting story.
