Rice pudding is a traditional sweet in our country Venezuela, everyone has their own style of how to prepare it. There are countless recipes with their individual touches according to who publishes it.
This time I bring the rice pudding and papelón in my mother's style, she gave instructions on how to make it. I told her that this is not my style but I will follow her instructions to try another method.
That's how this delicious preparation with a happy ending came about. I was very satisfied with the result, the rice was not hard as I told her according to her instructions. It tastes like it tastes.
Ingredientes utilizados
1 taza de arroz
2 tazas de agua
1 taza de leche
1/4 de cucharadita de sal
1/4 de papelón (de la panela de 1/2 kilo)
Canela en rama al gusto
Ingredients used
1 cup of rice
2 cups of wate
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of paprika (from the 1/2 kilo panela)
Cinnamon stick to taste
Once the ingredients are organized, put the water, salt, rice, milk, cinnamon, and the papelón in the pot to be used.
All the ingredients at once (this is where I have my style).
Well, over a slightly high heat the mixture was cooked until it boiled a little, then it was left to cook over low heat stirring from time to time.
The liquid was taking color because of the papelón, and it continued stirring, making sure that it dried and the rice was hard (it was not necessary to add more liquid).
The rice cooked very well, softened, took the flavor of the cinnamon and its sweetness was the papelón, which also took it very well. It was not too sweet. It was just right.
Here is the finished sweet ready to eat.
My mother was very happy with the result, we enjoyed it very much. Making the sweet and eating it too. The rice pudding with rice pudding and papelón is part of the traditional sweet to share this Semana Mayor.
