“Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate.”
– Alan D. Wolfelt
I felt ecstatic about this great Sunday morning. My daughters are free from colds and coughs already. The weather was fine and it was perfect for me as I was able to buy our consumption throughout the week.
Last night, we crave our best appetizer, the fried hot and spicy shrimp fritters. As a promise, I bought 2 glasses of this from the market which is worth 20 pesos per glass.
....and excitedly, I prepared this for my loves.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 medium glasses of shrimp fritters (I preferred this because it is not salty and it is fresh too)
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 6 hot chili pepper (depending on the desired taste- how hot or spicy is it)
- 20ml Canola oil
- 1 red onion
- pork - the amount of the meat depends on you, mine is only a few (cut into small sizes)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (I never used any seasonings when I cooked and in replacement of these, I use sugar to add taste)
After washing the spices and the pork, I sliced them carefully into tiny cuts. The pork added taste to this menu.
The Procedure
- With an aid of a frying pan, cook the sliced pork until oil comes out. Stir occasionally.
- When the pork oil comes out, I poured it away as this is not good for our health.
- On the frying pan, pour the canola oil and let it heat.
- Saute the garlic, the onion, and the pepper. Stir religiously. Afterward, add the sugar.
- When it is a lil bit sticky, add the shrimp fritters. Stir until it turns a golden color.
Here's my version of hot and spicy shrimp fritters. Let's eat. This is best when hot.
These are our viand and at the same time appetizer on our breakfast, the hot and spicy shrimp fritters, with fresh sea grapes or lato in our dialect, dipped into spicy vinegar and with ginisang mongo (sauteed mongo beans). We have eaten our breakfast very late because I wasn't able to buy it earlier at the market.
These are not costly however, they are yummy and delicious. Prepared with love from me. They were happily eating my preparation and were satisfied.
Thank you so much for spending enough time reading this simple menu of mine. Have a blessed Sunday!
