Hello, Foodies Bee Hive Family.
Last night, my partner and I discovered a new affordable seafood market. We decided to get fresh lobster, crab, and clams so I could make a seafood boil for us. All I can say is Wowza!!! I used Zatarain’s boil-in-bag seasoning. I like to control how much salt I put into my meals, so this seasoning bag was a perfect choice. If you love seafood as much as we do, please do your tastebuds a favor and try a seafood boil.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
[What I Need…]
- 3 quarts of water
- One sealed Zatarain’s seasoning bag
- 1 dozen crabs
- 1 pound of clams
- 2-4 lobster tails
- 1 pound mild sausages (Note: you can use spicy sausages)
- 4 tbsp of salt (Note: I like to use sea salt or Himalayan pink salt)
- 1-2 lemons, quartered
- 2 tbsp of vinegar (Note: this helps make the crabs and lobster easier to crack)
- 1 onion, peeled and cut into 4-6 pieces (optional)
- 8 cloves of garlic, smashed (optional)
- 4 ears corn on the cob cut into 3-4 inch pieces
(optional) - 1 pound small Yukon gold potatoes halved
(optional)
[How I Make Magic…]
- Cut 1-2 lemons into quarters.
- Fill a large pot with 3 quarts of water. Place the 1- 2 quartered lemons in the water along with the Zatarain’s seasoning, salt, garlic, and onion. Bring to a boil.
- Add potatoes and cook for 8 minutes.
- Add lobster tails and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the clams, crab, and corn. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the sausage and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Enjoy 🤤🤤🤤
[How Long to Cook Your Seafood]
The seafood ingredients in this recipe cook at different rates, so you’ll want to put the longest cooking items in the boil first, then add the others.
- Lobster: 8-12 minutes
- Clams: 5-10 minutes
- Crab: 6-8 minutes for pre-cooked crab, 20 minutes for raw crab
- Shrimp: 2-3 minutes
