Let's set the mood first:
Pick our ingredients:
Ok.... So weird, right? I have seen pink pineapples twice in my life and it has been in the last two years. They say that they remove the tops so that we, as the consumer, are not able to grow our own at home.
Having never tried one myself, when my mom took me to a nice Amish Market in called Detwilers to make sure that I had enough food in the house. Their produce is so fresh and amazing. They have one of the largest fresh seafood departments I have seen in a very long time and an ENTIRE department dedicated to cheese. My mom and I had a really great time there. Plus, I came home with two pink pineapples in tow.
Not knowing what to expect really, I cut into them today and cubed up the pieces to enjoy throughout the week. To be completely honest... I am really disappointed. They are definitely less acidic than regular pineapple. However, they are also way less sweet than regular pineapple.
I would not recommend using these for pina coladas only because they lack that traditional pineapple flavor.
No matter what though, let's not leave out this AMAZING MLP Named Pina Colada
It's dinner time here. Time for some Creamy Chicken Gnocchi Stoup (Not quite a soup and not quite a stew)
