How was your dinner? Do you prefer snack or heavy food for your dinner?
Tonight, I want to eat other menu besides the menu that my mom cooked today for my dinner. I feel, I want to eat something soupy and oily but it's not about something with rice.
My neighbor recommended me about Kwetiau fried from the shop that we always ordered. Previously, I have always order fried noodles, Mie Goreng, there. But these time I chosen kwetiau fried.
KWETIAU FRIED
As I know, Kwetiau still can be considered as noodles. If another noodles made from wheat flour, Kwetiau made from rice. It's not like common noodles, Kwetiau has a softer texture, clear color, flatter, and wider. Even so, kwetiau is included in the noodles category.
Kwetiau was one of Chinese cuisine who was popular in Indonesia. The cuisine with kwetiau was been one of popular street food. So, to find out this menu isn't hard in Indonesia. If you find out Fried Rice's cart, Nasi Goreng, you would also found fried kwetiau or kwetiau soup there.
I remember when I'm in college, my friend has always took a pack of kwetiau for her breakfast. Once I tried her mine, that was so delicious. Next day, I ordered the same menu through her. Next day, my other friend also ordered same menu, Fried Kwetiau, and almost one week we have ordered and eaten kwetiau as our breakfast.
Since then, I like kwetiau.
This Fried Kwetiau slight oily and soupy, as I ordered, I don't like if it so dry hahaha...
As Addition, in these fried Kwetiau there are also pieces of chicken, pieces of meatball, pieces of sausage, slices of tomatoes and cucumber, then slice of Cayenne pepper, In last pieces, you have to more carefull, so cayenne pepper was so spicy.
One thing that I almost forget to say that, Kwetiau is usually cooked with scrambled eggs firstly before kwetiau entered in the pan. As you can see, the white small-things around the Kwetiau was scrambled eggs. It's made Kwetiau more delicious more than you thought.
Other addition for Fried Kwetiau was shrimp crisp. It was others favorite. Eating something without shrimp crisp, it can be more delicious.
Fried Kwetiau Has Low Price
Talking about the price, Fried Kwetiau is not expensive food. As I said that this is kind of street food, Fried Kwetiau has low price.
But, there's price differences between the price in Jakarta and my Hometown. In Jakarta, Fried Kwetiau in the price of IDR 15K, or 1 USD. In my hometown, with same portion, even have more portion I just paid IDR 10K, it's about 0.17 USD. It's cheaper but the taste more delicious in my hometown. I don't know why.
