It's been a while since I did any form of written content so I thought it was time to raise this community from the dead. This also comes due to the awesome activities we've had at work this week.
Over the last few weeks the school I work at have been making an effort to raise money to aid Ukraine in the war. This is something everyone at our school, from young to adult, has been involved in. It started out as a smaller thing where only the 10th graders were doing some activities but it didn't take long for the entire school, 1st to 9th graders, to get engaged.

This week we dedicated the whole week to Ukraine. We removed all kinds of homework and the kids have been incentivised to make an effort at home or in the neighbourhood than ask for payment in terms of a donation towards the cause. They've been told to do a little something that takes around 30 minutes or more every day. This was very positively received.
For most of the week classes have been going as normal except for today. Today we dedicated the entire day to fun activities. No classes only fun!
The day started with a gathering for some simple information and a round of "Maskorama" or "The Masked Singer" as I think it's called in the US. Here two people of the staff were dressed up in giant dinosaur suits and the kids were tasked with guessing who it was. They were asked a series of questions which they had answered beforehand that was read loud to give some hints.
The kids were able to go to the betting stand during lunch and place their guesses. Here they could also guess who would win in the relay race and dodgeball match between teachers and students. The winner of each category would win an easter egg filled with candy.
For the next two hours the kids were split into groups where they did a rotation between different rooms. One room had a quiz, another had Just Dance, Karaoke and several other things. When this finished an hour of lunch came up. Here me and several other teachers has spent the last two hours getting the grills ready. I grilled up at least 400 hot dogs today. They were also able to go a cafe and get some cakes.

Next up came the sports activities. We did a relay race and a dodge ball match and it was the teachers against the kids. The kids won the relay race but the teachers won the dodge ball match even though we were grossly outnumbered. We took them on endurance and when the time run out no team had lost but the teachers had the most players on the field. Let's fucking go! When we got back from the field of battle Queens song We Are The Champions was playing. It was great.

The kids didn't pay any amount of money at school and that's a choice we took due to social differences. We don't want some kids to be buying tons of hot dogs and cakes while some can barely afford a hot dog. This was all treated on them and instead the parents or kids donate a chosen amount for themselves.
When the school day was over the total amount gathered over the week was at a solid $5000. As I'm writing this now we're just a few bucks away from passing $6000 and we're definitely gonna do that. The goal of the week was $5700 (50000 NOK) so this has been a great success so far. It's just gonna go up as parents, teachers, kids and others keep contributing.
Anyways, I just wanted to share the experience of this awesome week. I also don't want to reap any benefits from this in term of monetary rewards so I will donate the equivalent amount that this post makes in NOK when it pays out. I'll take this out of my own wallet to balance it out and add it on top of the sum I already donated instead of going through the progress of transferring HIVE out.
I didn't take any photos today and don't really want to share photos from my workplace so enjoy a collection of carefully curated and related memes.
