¡Mi primera presentación! | My first presentation!
Hace unos días tuve la dicha de ser parte de una presentación por el día de la cultura cubana. El número de dúo en telas fue parte de una producción titulada “Ay Cuba, ¡qué linda eres!” la cual se dio a cabo en el Teatro Municipal de Caracas, el día 20 de octubre, dicho teatro es uno de los más importantes del país y a mi parecer uno de los más hermosos ya que su interior tiene un estilo muy a lo ópera, de verdad me sentí en alguna película mientras ensayaba y me arreglaba en los camerinos, fue una experiencia muy bonita y fue como un pequeño sueño.
A few days ago I had the joy of being part of a presentation for the day of Cuban culture. The duo number in fabrics was part of a production entitled "Ay Cuba, ¡qué linda eres!" which took place at the Teatro Municipal de Caracas, on October 20, this theater is one of the most important in the country and in my opinion one of the most beautiful because its interior has a very opera style, I really felt in a movie while rehearsing and I was getting ready in the dressing rooms, it was a very nice experience and it was like a little dream.

El 20 de octubre es el día de la cultura cubana y para celebrarlo, la Dirección de Misiones Sociales de Cuba organizó una gala donde se dio a cabo un número musical donde intervinieron los niños de la Colmena Cultural donde dicto talleres con mi compañero

Los niños de la Colmena interpretaron los aborígenes.
Un grupo de mujeres y niñas interpretaron las mujeres de época con cantos yoruba y tambores.
The children of La Colmena interpreted the aborigines.
A group of women and girls interpreted the women of the time with Yoruba songs and drums.
Los representantes de la misión que nos invitaron interpretaron unos poemas hermosos de un cubano a su isla, y otras piezas más que daban a conocer la historia y cultura de cuba.
The representatives of the mission who invited us interpreted some beautiful poems of a Cuban to his island, and other pieces that made known the history and culture of Cuba.
Luego entre ellos y los niños bailaron al son de una canción tradicional de cuba muy similar a una canción tradicional venezolana llamada el pájaro Guarandol.
Then they and the children danced to a traditional Cuban song very similar to a traditional Venezuelan song called the Guarandol bird.
Finalmente, luego de la interpretación del danzón nuevamente por los pequeños de la colmena cultural, llegó el momento del número de telas aéreas.

El número de telas fue nuestra creación, pero la canción fue seleccionada por los organizadores de la producción. La canción interpretada por David Blanco, fue nuestra pieza musical para la actuación, la primera canción romántica cubana, cuyo valor es inmenso para los corazones cubanos y todo aquél cubano que la escucha fuera de su isla le hace añorarla y extrañarla. Como la canción de “Venezuela” para los venezolanos.
En lo personal estuve muy nerviosa pues era la primera vez que presentábamos el número de telas aéreas en una actividad de ese tipo, debo admitir que el nombre “gala” me atemorizó un poco, sin embargo, las felicitaciones no cesaron y los aplausos fueron altísimos. Me sentí muy complacida de que los detalles hayan sido los más tomados en cuenta, como por ejemplo que los representantes muchas instituciones de nacionalidad cubana se conmovieron al ver los colores de la tela y los vestuarios pues sentían que era la bandera de cuba y los emocionó muchísimo.
Además tuvimos una conversación muy cercana directamente con la Vice Ministro de Cultura, que además de felicitarnos nos escuchó muchas propuestas que le dimos como artistas y profesores. Ella se mostró muy contenta e impresionada de que aún se hagan este tipo de trabajos en el país.
Esto fue todo en relación a la gala por el día de la cultura cubana que quise compartir pues esa experiencia me abrió la puerta a la curiosidad de seguir aprendiendo sobre la cultura cubana, y con esto también invitar a cualquier persona que lea este post a indagar sobre la cultura cubana, pues es muy diversa, colorida, alegre y también llena de muchas historias conmovedoras como un pueblo bastante batallador.
Me pareció un evento muy hermoso, incluso hicieron mención a que “fue un espectáculo de alto nivel artístico”, espero les guste y aunque no tenga vídeos espero que las fotos sean de su agrado.
The fabric number was our creation, but the song was selected by the organizers of the production. The song interpreted by David Blanco, was our musical piece for the performance, the first Cuban romantic song, whose value is immense for Cuban hearts and every Cuban who listens to it outside his island makes him long for it and miss it. Like the song "Venezuela" for Venezuelans.
Personally, I was very nervous because it was the first time that we presented the number of aerial fabrics in an activity of this type, I must admit that the name "gala" frightened me a little, however, the congratulations did not cease and the applause was very high. I was very pleased that the details were the most taken into account, as for example that the representatives of many institutions of Cuban nationality were moved when they saw the colors of the fabric and the costumes because they felt that it was the flag of Cuba and they were very excited.
We also had a very close conversation directly with the Vice Minister of Culture, who in addition to congratulating us, listened to many proposals that we gave her as artists and teachers. She was very happy and impressed that this kind of work is still being done in the country.
This was all in relation to the gala for the day of Cuban culture that I wanted to share because that experience opened the door to the curiosity to continue learning about Cuban culture, and with this also invite anyone reading this post to inquire about Cuban culture, because it is very diverse, colorful, cheerful and also full of many moving stories as a people quite feisty.
