Was lag also näher, als ein Video über ihre Kräuterwanderungen zu gestalten? Für dieses Video Drohnenfilme zu machen und in der Doku zu verwenden?
Eine billige Drohne hatte ich damals, sie konnte nicht über FPV gesteuert werden. Das Problem: kaum war die Drohne etwas weiter weg, war kaum mehr zu erkennen, wohin ich sie steuere.
Gerade zu dieser Zeit war das Wetter ziemlich stürmisch. Das ist für Graz und Umgebung eher ungewöhnlich. Da war es gar nicht so leicht, die Drohne unter Kontrolle zu halten!
Einmal verblies der Wind die Drohne derartig, dass ich nur mehr sah, wie sie auf die Baumwipfel zutrieb. Wenn sie hängenblieb, war sie sicher endgültig verloren. Dann sah ich sie wieder auftauchen und konnte sie in sicheres Gebiet lenken. Die Kamera war die ganze Zeit eingeschaltet. Die Bilder waren enorm. Der Schreck hatte sich ausgezahlt.
Die Musik zu diesem Film ist meine Eigenkomposition; ich spielte sie mit zwei Gitarren ein.
Heute ist es mit FPV viel leichter: auf dem Display meiner Fernsteuerung sehe ich, was die Kamera meiner Drohne sieht.
First drone video
So what could be more obvious than to create a video about her herbal hikes? Make drone footage for this video and use it in the documentary?
I had a cheap drone back then, it couldn't be controlled via FPV. The problem: as soon as the drone was a little further away, it was difficult to see where I was steering it.
Just at that time the weather was quite stormy. This is rather unusual for Graz and the surrounding area. It wasn't that easy to keep the drone under control!
At one point the wind blew the drone so I could only see it drifting towards the treetops. If she got stuck, she was sure to be lost forever. Then I saw them reappear and was able to steer them to safe territory. The camera was on the whole time. The images were enormous. The shock had paid off.
The music for this film is my own composition; I played them with two guitars.
Today it's much easier with FPV: on the display of my remote control I can see what my drone's camera sees.
