Disclaimer: Der Beitrag ist nicht als Grundsatzdiskussion für oder gegen Impfungen gedacht (verstehe beide Seiten), sondern ich möchte in dem Posting meine persönliche Erfahrung zur dritten Impfung schildern.
Mittlerweile gibt es in Österreich keine Impfstoffknappheit mehr und man kann sich zumindest in Wien sehr niederschwellig und "kostenlos" impfen lassen, sogar ohne Anmeldung in Einkaufszentren, Impfbussen und Impfboxen.
Verglichen mit anderen Regionen auf der Welt sind wir diesbezüglich privilegiert. Das war nicht immer so. Stichwort EU-Impfstoffbeschaffung.
Impfungen sind grundsätzlich in Wien sehr gut organisiert. Und noch etwas ist in Wien neu, man kann sich bereits "off-label" / freiwillig nach 4 Monaten die dritte Impfung holen, die mittlerweile sogar stark empfohlen wird. Offiziell nach 6, spätestens nach 9 Monaten. Status Quo, auch das kann sich noch ändern. 2 Impfungen schützen nicht mehr gegen Omikron, bei 3 hofft man auf einen Schutz vor schweren Verläufen. Ganz klar ist das aber noch nicht.
Habe hin und herüberlegt und mich dazu entschlossen, das mit dem Booster noch vor Weihnachten zu erledigen, in meinem Fall ziemlich genau 5 Monate nach der zweiten Impfung.
War gestern Abend in einem Einkaufszentrum in Wien (Lugner City), ohne Anmeldung, es gab eine überraschend große Schlange, musste eine gute halbe Stunde warten, die ich mit dem Ausfüllen der "Einverständniserklärung" überbrückt habe und auch ein nettes Gespräch hat sich ergeben.
Das Warten war deshalb halb so schlimm und das Prozedere hat ansonsten gut geklappt. Außerhalb der Impfzentren wird ohne Anmeldung übrigens ausschließlich Pfizer/BioNTech verimpft, was für mich ok ist (bevorzugter Impfstoff).
Jetzt sind bereits 24 Stunden vergangen und ich kann euch etwas zu den Nebenwirkungen sagen. Obwohl ich grundsätzlich sehr empfindlich bin, habe ich die Impfung so wie die beiden Shots davor gut vertragen.
Diesmal sind die Schmerzen im Arm sogar überraschend geringer ausgefallen. Ansonsten auch keine wirklichen Nebenwirkungen. Hab mich am Vormittag ein bisschen matt gefühlt und das Gefühl, dass etwas im Körper arbeitet, aber ansonsten keine Nebenwirkungen :)
Habe Glück gehabt. Auf Holz klopfen. Sollte noch Impfreaktionen eintreten, werde ich euch natürlich updaten.
Habt ihr euch schon geboostert? Was sind eure Erfahrungen?
ps. bin gespannt, wie es mit dem Impfen weitergeht. Vermute, dass es nächstes Jahr neue angepasste Impfstoffe geben wird, mal schauen, aber hoffe auch, dass wir uns nicht alle 4-6 Monate impfen lassen müssen. In Österreich ist eine allgemeine Impfpflicht ab Februar 2022 geplant.

Luckily, there is no longer a vaccine shortage in Austria, in Vienna, one can get vaccinated very easily and "free of charge", even without prior registration in shopping centers, vaccination buses and vaccination boxes.
Compared to other regions in the world, we are privileged so to speak in this respect. This was not always the case. EU failed at ordering vaccines earlier this year.
Vaccinations are basically very well organized in Vienna. And something else is new in Vienna too, you can already get the third shot "off-label" / voluntarily after 4 months, which is now even strongly recommended. Officially after 6, at the latest after 9 months. Status quo, even this can still change. 2 vaccinations no longer protect against Omicron, with 3 there is hope at least for protection against severe cases. However, this is not entirely clear yet and needs more studies.
Have been thinking back and forth and decided to do the booster shot before xmas, in my case pretty much 5 months after my second shot.
Yesterday evening, I was in a shopping mall in Vienna (Lugner City), without registration, there was a surprisingly large queue, had to wait more than half an hour, which I bridged by filling out the "consent form" and a nice conversation also ensued.
The wait was therefore half as bad and the procedure otherwise went well. Outside of the vaccination centers, by the way, only Pfizer/BioNTech is vaccinated without registration, which is my preferred vaccine anyway.
Now 24 hours have already passed and I can tell you something about the side effects. Although I am basically very sensitive, I tolerated the vaccination well, just like the two shots before.
This time the pain in my arm is even less. Apart from that, no real side effects. Felt a bit dull in the morning and the feeling that something is working in the body, but otherwise no side effects :)
Have been lucky. Knocking on wood. If there are still vaccine reactions, I will of course update you.
Have you got a booster shot already? What's your experience?
ps. I am curious how it goes with vaccination next year. Assume that there will be new adapted vaccines coming soon, let's see, but also hope that we do not have to vaccinate every 4-6 months. In Austria, there will be a general vaccination mandate starting February 2022 btw. So we do not have a real choice anyway.
