Living next door is a part of life's journey, there are many stories that happen when you become a social human being in your neighbour's life. Sometimes we have neighbors who are super nice, helping each other, but there are also neighbors who are annoying and scary. But, what if you have a neighbor who is psychopathic and full of question marks?
Today I just finished a Netflix series that has long been the talk of series and movie lovers. Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. This is a series that has just aired on our favorite Netflix, has 10 episodes that tell a criminal biography of a crazy psychopath who kills and even eats his victims (cannibals).
The story begins with Jeffrey Dahmer who was caught by two police officers because he was reported by a man named Tracy who almost became a victim of Jeffrey Dahmer, until finally the police found several pieces of meat, heads and human bodies in Dahmer's apartment. Police arrested him and took Jeffrey Dahmer to the police station for interrogation. In the end Jeffrey Dahmer admitted his mistake.
Unexpectedly, Jeffrey Dahmer has admitted to killing 15 people in a short time, he mutilated and even ate his victims. This often happened because Dahmer liked him, the longer the psychopathic turmoil grew so much that Dahmer couldn't stop his cravings.
In episode 6, Jeffrey Dahmer finds his idol who makes him better, Dahmer's sadistic behavior changes when he meets Tony, a gay man who is able to attract Jeffrey Dahmer's attention because of Tony's love and attitude that Jeffrey likes. Although Tony is a person who has limitations in hearing and speaking (deaf), it does not make their communication limited.
But it turns out that Jefrrey Dahmer's greed made him have to lose Tony, who was eventually killed by Jeffrey sadistically. He didn't want Tony out of his life, even just to work. Until Jeffrey did that and kept repeating until more and more victims fell in the hands of Jeffrey Dahmer.
At first Jeffrey Dahmer liked human carcasses because since childhood he liked to study the anatomy of animal carcasses with his father who was an educator. Jeffrey admits that splitting the body of an animal while with his father is an interesting thing. Until episode 8, Lionel (Dahmer's father) regretted his actions for teaching Jefrrey Dahmer this. In the end Lionel met Jefrrey while in prison, with regret he left his son to become someone brutal and sadistic, as a monster.
Being a monster actually made Jeffrey Dahmer famous and praised by his fans, until finally the apartment where Dahmer lived was destroyed because fans often came and looked for news. The fans also criticized the victim's family and continued to be crazy news, the image of the terrible killer continued to haunt.
Dahmer's actions are getting more and more crazy in prison, making many prisoners angry with him. Because many praised Dahmer, so he felt like a celebrity and famous, it made a prisoner, Christopher, finally kill Dahmer after knowing the backround about Dahmer, who is a psychopathic psychopath, a sadistic killer who is very terrible.
The above is a little storyline about this series, quite long because this series is 10 episodes with a duration of 1 hour each episode. For a criminal series, this is very good to be rewritten and made into a sadistic biography. I like the plot, which is very slick, neatly arranged so that the audience understands the story and how Jeffrey Dahmer has killed many people.
The acting played by Evan Peters is unquestionable. Very complex and totality and very professional. He displays the action of Jeffrey Dahmer as if it looks real, makes us release emotions when watching it. The character played by Evan Peters is made as closely as possible as Jeffrey Dahmer in the 80s. When I watch this series, repeatedly I can not bear to look into Jeffrey Dahmer's eyes which are very ghastly.
Behind the success of this series, many controversies occurred, including this series was made without the permission of the victims' families. However, this series is very well written by the director, and deserves appreciation.
