At a time when each tribe believes in its own prophecy, it shouldn't be too hard for someone who has a large crowd behind him to present himself as God. Accepting to be a slave for the sake of not going against God (person) is the work of ignorance and herd psychology.
In the film titled 10,000 B.C., my expectation was that the film would show the struggle of hunter and warrior tribes with more authentic scenes and reflect the harsh life style on the screen, but I was disappointed in this regard!
It was interesting to see the struggle of the tribes and those believed to be gods come to the forefront in the harsh living conditions, while the struggle not to starve in times when agriculture had not even been discovered yet depended only on the ability to hunt. The prophecy about those who attacked the tribes and kidnapped the captives, who were thought to be useful to them, to give them to the command of the false god was the beginning of the end.
Not taking precautions even though they knew that the four-leggeds would come one day were the funny moments of the film in the genre of fantasy and drama. The fact that the selected tribe members, whose only purpose was to hunt in order to feed their own tribe, went from being hunters to warriors was the action aspect of the film.
Although the 2008 film did not meet my expectations, it was successful in terms of visuals, story and final battle scenes. Evolet (played by Camilla Belle), the main focus of the prophecies, was the only girl who survived her tribe being attacked. The prophecy was already based on her growth and the man she would marry.
By the way, I should mention that other tribes also have their own prophecies and even the captives of the false god have their own prophecies. The fact that everyone has their own prophecy delays their unity even in the common enemy.
I can't say anything about the success or failure of the film in terms of the historical aspect and the way it reflects it, because I don't know exactly what existed or didn't exist at the time mentioned. But since agricultural products and cultivation have not yet been discovered, they survive by hunting, which means meat at every meal or starvation. As long as you are not a vegetarian and can hunt, eating meat at every meal is not a problem because hunting is the most valid profession.
I like to watch hunting methods when hunting weapons are primitive weapons such as spears, arrows, axes. In fact, it would be more fun if there was no false god and the whole film was based on hunting and survival.
Nevertheless the film flowed smoothly and well, watching the makeshift army of hunters attempt to take down the false god and the way each tribe supported their own prophecy was an hour and a half well spent. The only boring thing about the film is that it fails to disguise the scenes and the next stage, it's too obvious what happens next before it happens. A minus note can be given to the director in this regard.
Nevertheless, productions about the ancient past or the far future are more interesting. Like a journey into the unknown, it makes me watch the film more carefully. This makes some flaws acceptable. I think even the title of the film is attractive in terms of watchability, and it is a historical attraction! lol
