I watch more animations and cartoons than I did when I was a child. The reason for this is that my daughter watches a lot of youtube videos, there are youtubers there that she follows and admires, and I am worried about the time she spends with most of them meaningless videos. So I tell her that I want to watch animation or cartoons with her, so that we spend time together and at the same time I take her away for a while from the videos that I don't want her to watch.
For every parent, seeing their child happy is part of their own happiness. This is the same for me, seeing my daughter's smile and happiness is worth many things. At the weekend, we agreed to make our day, which started with a good breakfast, a little festive and to do an animated film watching activity due to a few factors I mentioned above. Of course, the first condition was "but I will choose". Since this was a request that I had already agreed to, I was not asked.
After watching a few trailers and comment reviews, with my guidance, we decided on Tom and Jerry, which was made in 2021. Tom and Jerry was one of the important cartoons of my childhood. Although I haven't watched many cartoons and animations, I remember Tom the cat's adventures with Jerry the mouse. When they broadcast 5-10 minute segments on TV, I would never leave the screen. Although there was no dialogue between them, I immediately understood which one wanted to do what, and I would never find it strange that Jerry the mouse was always superior.

Unlike the Tom and Jerry cartoon that I started to watch with my daughter, they carried the same characters and similar story to the people and reflected it as a cinema film.
Let me briefly explain the plot. Preeta (played by Pallavi Sharda) and Ben (played by Colin Jost) are an engaged couple preparing for marriage. They want to have their wedding at a hotel and ensure that the wedding is perfect. Kayla (played by Chloe Grace) is a new employee at the hotel and is tasked with organising the wedding.
After you have already understood the subject, you have already guessed who came to the hotel. Tom and Jerry come to the hotel and, so to speak, they destroy the wedding and even the whole hotel. For the hotel owners, employees and residents, this chaos was quite displeasing and annoying, but for my daughter and me it became a source of joy.
During the wedding organisation, we stopped the film for a few minutes because of the fear of mice experienced by the couple who came to the hall riding elephants, after the elephants saw Jerry the mouse on the floor, and at the moments that caused the efforts of the entire organisation team to be destroyed. Because we laughed so much (mostly my daughter, of course) that our stomachs ached and we took a break to breathe a little.
The happy ending of the film, the remarriage of the separated couples, the reinstatement of the fired organiser, and most importantly, Tom and Jerry getting along well became our happiness.
And it has become our routine to analyse the film, chat about the film and make good/bad evaluations as we do with my daughter after every animation or cartoon we watch. This process is longer than the film, but I am the one who is the happiest because I keep her away from the youtube screen more. There is less than a month left until the end of the summer holiday, then schools will start again and she will return to her daily routine.
We will be able to watch fewer films during school time, and the ones we do watch will probably cover the weekends. Weekday lessons may be more intensive because primary school is finished and this year he will start secondary school. He will have more classes and more teachers. I also think he may have a little more difficulty because of the change of school. These days we spend together will help him to prepare for the busy school year.
Tom and Jerry is a fun film with very enjoyable and funny moments. If you are of a certain age, watching the film alone may bore you, but if you have a small child like me, believe me, watching the film will be quite fun.
