Hey guys
Since the premier of the rings of power my wife wanted to watch the LOTR trilogy so we decided to watch it together i had 10 years to watch the movies and a little refresh was nice. The whole trilogy took us 1 week to watch because of limited time in the night with the baby , work and preparation for the next day.
So i will write my opinion for every movie after watching the while i was 12 then at 18-20 with the uncut scenes and now at my 30s with the CGI now being in a whole different level.
the 1st part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, by Peter Jackson. As a project, one could easily call it suicide. 281 million dollars for shooting 3 films, consecutively, in a grueling period of 430+ days, for something that you don't know what impression it will make since there is nothing like it to compare it to.
The trilogy influenced the field and many consider it the greatest in the history of cinema.
• Directorially, the film is a real spectacle. This combination that the film makes, i.e. the excellent use of technologies as well as art, is monumental. The change of style, the way the film begins with these wonderful battle scenes, but also the beginning of the story with the very next one, which are the sweet and fairy-tale scenes in Hobbiton, is admirable. For me too, the scenes in which Sauron's sent horsemen are looking to find Frodo and his company in the dark woods have been etched in my mind, just atmospheric. Whatever you say about anything from the sets, the fight scenes, the physical parts, the costumes and the film effects of the film are just a little bit.
• In terms of script, the film is an almost faithful adaptation of Tolkien's books. Now as for the complaining fanatics of Tolkien's books, that obviously there would be changes because these are different genres, another literature another cinema.
• The acting in the film is at a high level. I love Elijah Wood as Frodo, Ian McKellen is great as Gandalf the Gray and so is Christopher Lee as Saruman, Viggo Mortensen as Aragon is great and Orlando Bloom does an amazing job as Legolas. Obviously the whole cast from the protagonists, to the last orc.
• What can one say about the Lord's soundtrack. It's a masterpiece, it puts you so in the mood of the time, it works and accompanies the whole fantasy and medieval part wonderfully.
Ok since the other two are following I can't give my full opinion, but I will say that this film shows how much care has gone into it from the director and the protagonists to the last technician.
