Following up on my last post about how incredibly exhausted we all are lately, I wanted to share exactly how I managed to protect my energy and truly unwind over the weekend.
We talked about how hard it is to get the mind to finally shut up and stop worrying about the hustle.i have always been a lover of series well, this weekend, I logged out of my responsibilities, sank into the couch, and pressed play on one of my absolute go to stress relievers.
If you’ve ever watched Sistas, you already know that the lives of Andi, Danni, Karen, and Sabrina are a non stop rollercoaster of complicated love lives, career hurdles, and wild relationship drama.
And honestly? That is exactly why I love it.
When your own life feels heavy with real world pressures, bills, work, chores, and future plans, there is nothing better than diving into fictional chaos. Watching the girls navigate their messy 30s in a world of social media and unrealistic relationship expectations completely distracts me. For a few hours, my brain didn't have room to worry about my own life because I was too busy shouting at the screen over whatever Zac, Fatima, or the rest of the cast were up to.
The Power of a Brain Off Habit
Sometimes, "real rest" isn't about sitting in silence with your thoughts because let’s face it, our thoughts can be loud and stressful. Sometimes, true relaxation is just giving yourself permission to enjoy something highly entertaining, loud, and dramatic without any guilt.
Sistas gave me that perfect buffer this weekend. It cooled off my head, made me laugh, and let me reset so I could face this new week with a bit more strength.
