Excellent film that forever changed the way of understanding the cinema of the XXI century.
Everything in this movie borders on or reaches perfection:
1- The most original script in the history of science fiction.
2- The recognized by the Academy impeccable edition.
3- A fresh and dynamic direction by the Wachowski brothers.
4- A correct interpretation by some (Reeves), and perfect by others (Weaving as the best movie villain, or Fishburne).
5- The best sound and sound effects I can remember ever hearing in a movie.
6- And almost the least are some incredible special effects, which support and highlight the action of the film, and which will go down in the History of Cinema.
The Matrix is a movie that creates controversy, or at least that's what those who didn't understand it pretend, who usually reduce it to a four-fight movie with many special effects, if you are one of those, before scoring it, look again to see if you understand it.
The plot is very elaborate, the entire universe that is created, the amount of definitions there are, the characters, in fact part of the film is used only to explain what we are seeing. Neo's character progression is a bit like Son Goku, but what's wrong with that?
It is a movie that takes you from the second 1 into its gray atmosphere, it makes you wonder what is happening and what you are watching, it has many more readings apart from the direct one. For the film we are small ovens that heat the robots, that is not very different from the harsh reality.
The visual and sound effects are unsurpassed, even today 7 years later it continues to impress, a shame that it can no longer be seen in cinemas; even some of its scenes are mythical and have been imitated or parodied several times.
The links with philosophy, religion, or modern approaches to the Asimovian future that society seems to fear are simply great, making the viewer watch the movie over and over again, while still reflecting on the wonder they are witnessing.
