I'm tired, very tired of seeing criticism and criticism. I am fed up with myself, because I also practice this noble art. But this time it doesn't happen anymore, because I come to claim a misunderstood jewel, to praise some modern heroes, authentic centaurs of the asphalt.
The late Paul Walker and Vin Diesel not only star in a story that doesn't even leave time to breathe, but they also star in one of the best scenes in recent years, yes, I'm exaggerating. Where the two actors connect completely, where time stops after so much speed.
Brian looks at Toretto, and in his eyes he sees that longing for freedom, he sees something to admire, above the law, he sees what he always wanted to be. Where the friendship and admiration of a man towards another man, prevails over duty.
That moment is worth it, even if you are not a big fan of tuning, those final words of Toretto express it better than anything...
"-I live from half a kilometer to half a kilometer. I don't care about anything else. During those ten seconds or less, I am free."
And now away from that great moment that captivates me, being objective it cannot be said that the film is bad, quite the opposite. It represents a very particular world, tuning as a way of life. This for some may be an exaltation of something evil, antisocial, but in my opinion you have to get away from the concept, to understand the whole with a little more head.
As a film, for a viewer who considers himself out of that world, the film is enjoyable, and I think that is important.
The Fast and the Furious faithfully captures that world, if I want that to be clear, of illegal racing, tuning, stunning women, and cockiness in general.
And after saying all this, I hope you also enjoy the drawing I made of Paul Walker a long time ago.
