I'm all eyes on CineTv Community. The quality of contents I'm seeing there are massive. To be fair, any cinephile who takes a look at what goes on here will have a lot of movies and TV shows on their watchlist. Haha.
Cool. Isn't it?
Are you a cinephile?
That's the big question. I'd see myself as a cinephile. An unconventional one at that. Like many people, I started enjoying what happens on the big screen from when I was a kid. Chinese movies singlehandedly saved my childhood. Haha. I'm not kidding.
Who wouldn't like to watch Jet li fly around and annihilate thousands of armed swordsmen? What of Jackie Chan? I enjoyed his Drunken master like no-man's business. Sammie Hung was one of those that had many film tricks in his movies and I couldn't care less.
As far as I'm concerned, the major character can use a finger to fight against every other person without getting hurt. Science, fact or reality didn't matter. As far it's a thrilling action movie, you can always count me in. The more tricky they make the tricks, the better.
I bet this is why I never really connected with Nigerian movies even as a kid. I wasn't seeing those thrilling choreography and the quality of their work was never interesting to me. That's me though, I'm not taking anything away from Nollywood after all, the last memory I have of a Nigerian movie was in 2007 or so before calling it quits.
In 2008, I found out about Merlin and
Legend of the Seeker.
These two interestingly suspenseful TV series became the first set of TV series I ever watched. I started with the latter before adding the former to my watchlist. God, I binge-watched these TV series with all seriousness. Haha.
I enjoyed it, no doubt but I still wanted to see Martial arts. That's how I got to watch 'A man called God'.
Back then, this 24 episode Kdrama gave me a new perspective when it comes to ranking movies. The fight scenes were well choreographed and the storyline was top-notch. I enjoyed the suspense and most importantly this gave me a clue of how Korea operates.
Since then to date, I have watched an unprintable number of Kdramas. Probably 100 or something of that nature. I keep a tab on my favourite actors, directors, writers and Awards associated with Kdramas.
For the record, by Korean Drama, I mean South Korean stuff, not North Korea. Hehe.
Just saying ✌️
What do I have to offer CineTv?
There is a lot of stuff going on in the Kdrama industry starting from the TV shows themselves to the awards won by Kdramas locally and internationally. I will post reviews on highly rated and underrated Kdramas. As far as I'm concerned, everyother rating out there is immaterial to how I will rate each Kdrama.
My blog, my rating. Haha
FTR, Kdramas are released 2 episodes per week except when they have some sort of public holidays over there which may be significant enough to affect the release of episodes for the week. It's kinda rare for that to happen, but it happens. Their episodes have 60 minutes runtime on OCN or TVN but that would be too much of a hassle for anyone that is not in Asia. Hehe. You can just stream them from any of your favourite streaming sites.
You enjoyed Squid Game, right?
I also did, but it's not in my top 40 Kdramas. Seriously, it's not in my top 41 😂 but if you enjoyed it, you will have to knock yourself out while watching the Kdramas I will be Highlighting in my subsequent posts to this Community.
Fingers Crossed...
Tell me what you think of Kdramas.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
