How I feel about him
Years ago, I saw Jack Nicholson for the first time. I didn't like his acting at first since he seemed frightening to me. So viewing his other films scared me away. I recall looking for good horror movies to watch at the time. The Shining was recommended to me by a movie buff friend, and I recall seeing the classic image of Jack the moment he says, "Here's Johnny," and it gave me goosebumps.
But as I grew older and gained more knowledge, I realized it was just him portraying his part in the movies I saw of him. And gradually, I began to think he was still frightening, but this time I was more struck by his acting ability. I haven't seen nearly every Jack Nicholson film. But the more I watch his films, the more I admire him and his acting abilities. Especially in Chinatown and The Passenger, and as the Joker in the first Batman film, I believe. In those films, I literally fell in love with him.
He was incredibly terrific as the Joker in the first Batman film. Every scene with Jack in it will stay with you for the rest of your life. I believe it was the famous smile. For me, that was one of his most memorable roles.
Unfortunately, the actor's health had deteriorated due to drug usage according to an online source, and ever since he has been unable to record the lines for his projects any longer; he had to give up on acting due to memory loss.
