During the weekend I mention that I was expecting less action on episode 6, this is a tv series where I havent had the anxiety to know whats next so I'm going episode by episode every week, I have seen people buying the games just because they want to know whats next, never thought that would happen and I'm a bit silly for not thinking about it but its crazy how some ppl get trigger by media, I do from time to time but then that makes me think that probably I'm not like that anymore due to things I have been working on but thats a story for another day.
Joel and Ellie have arrive the mountains looking for Tommy, Joels brother, he is supposed to be with the Fire Flights somewhere close but the reality is different, the series is becoming less and less about the infected, different from other post apocalyptic zombie theme where its most about the infected than the ppl themself on this story is different, since the beginning I said I like that because The Last of Us is bringing something different with a lot of sense that can satisfy you and don't let you hanging or bored for the same type of story line on every similar tv show.

After ignoring the advice of locals, Joel and Ellie descend deeper into dangerous territory in search for the Fireflies - and Tommy. Source
After an episode 5 full of action, drama and death both of the main characters Joel and Ellie arrive the mountains, on their path to meet Tommy, Joel’s brother. They arrive to a cabin where a couple of old residents gave them some basic knowledge of what's around them and advice them not to cross the river since all they have seen are bodies from infected and non infected thrown around the area so there must be a group of violent people around the river but been Joel he has to find Tommy no matter what, Ellie is not so sure about it but still he have to follow Joel.
The River of Death
On this episode there were a few things that surprise me about Joel, I really thought he bounded with Ellie enough so he can care more about her than himself but during the episode there were some really shtty things he said, lucky he take it back and behave straight because Ellie is there for him, at the start of the episode Joel was feeling like he couldn't breath and his chest hurt and right away she said “If you are dead Im fcked” and you have to watch the series to understand that's the way she express herself. One scene that shows you Ellie is there for Joel is when she takes guard while Joel was still sleeping, after he told her would take both watch, but he still acts all cranky and didnt appreciate she cares for him, cmon she is just a kid that didnt ask for any of this.
One scene that shows you Ellie is there for Joel is when she takes guard while Joel was still sleeping, after he told her would take both watch, but he still acts all cranky and didn't appreciate she cares for him, another scene where she demonstrate how noble she is to him is when they arrive the dam, Joel said “Don't ask me I don't have a clue” saying he doesn't know how it works and Ellie said back “you could just made something up I would have believe you” cmon she is just a kid that did not ask for any of this.
Joel and Ellie finally meet the people on the other side of the river, at first they never look like aggressive but more cautious since they keep asking if they have been near infected or are infected, so then they bring this cute doggy right here that seems to be train to smell infected ppl “if you are infected he will smell it and he will rip you off”, at this point both Joel and Ellie are really scare because its either a bullet, the dogs doesn't like you and kills you or the dog might be wrong or he smells Ellie and think she is infected just because he has been bitten before by infected but never turn, but once again they were lucky and the dog just starts playing with Ellie. Its a very tense scene, the only kind of action that you get on this episode but still very entertaining episode so far and from here things start to soften more as the story of Tommy starts to develop.
They arrive a town where Tommy has been living in, who would have thought that Tommy was still alive, since Joel start talking about his brother and he had to look for him I really thought this was a lost cause, but at the end Tommy was lucky enough that he has found place to live well and even got married, Joel kinda don't approve it or doesn't trust Tommy’s wife and she doesn't trust Joel neither, seems that Tommy told her everything they did in the past and for some time, scenes that have not or may not show up on the TV series, Joel was the one thinking just to survive and F the rest of the world and that's part of the show too, demonstrate how far people can go in a situation where they are against the wall, its either ride or die. Both sides lie to each other, but there is a lot to lose for Joel and Ellie if someone in town doesn't like the fact or thinks Ellie puts in risk the rest of the town and this is understandable.
Joel tells Tommy the Thruth
This part of the episode is very classic but between all this little story between brothers and catching up the real climax is that Joel tells the truth to Tommy, he tells Tommy that Ellie is immune and needs to take her with the Fireflies to their lab and look for a cure. Joel finally tells Tommy all they have been through and that he needs him to take Ellie with him because he is feeling his body can't do it anymore, he falls sleep, have trouble breathing, he feels old and cant protect her, but at this point Tommy has a lot on his plate, he has a great place to live, a wife, a child on the way but Joel is his brother and accept to take Ellie with him.
The worst part of this is that Ellie doesn't want to leave Joel behind, they had a discussion about it and Joel in a moment of anger and desperation after Ellie tries to tell him she understand why he might be worry about her, because she understand his lost when his daughter died, obviously this make Joel very angry because he still hurt and tell her she is not his problem, she is not his daughter.
But after thinking about it, I mean they have been through a lot together and Joel cares about Ellie it's just that he is old, he has done a lot of thing that hunt him during his dreams and life has taken a lot from him so probably is hard to believe that there is hope, a solution to a problem and the will probably be dead when life goes back to normal so he meets Tommy and Ellie to take her with the Fireflies, Ellie is just a kid and cares about Joel so there is no bad feelings between them, she is noble to Joel, Tommy gave them a horse and a rifle and this is how their new adventure starts.
They finally arrive to a university where the fireflies are suppose to be, but everything looks like has been destroyed, they even found a note, a checklist of things to move out, right away this told me there were no Fireflies there and soon Joel would have to fight someone, the end of the episode seems very rush like they wanted to add some action before the episode starts and that's what happen, all of the sudden a group of guys that were going around with bats and guns found Joel and Ellie, while they trying to escape the University on their horse, Joel had to fight one of the guys, kills him but not before he gets stab in the abdomen with part of the bat that broke, Joel and Ellie were able to get away in the horse but Joel is hurt very bad and falls to the ground.
This was not a bad episode, as mention it was expected that episode 6 was more about the story and not action, there were two parts of the episode that I didn't like that much, same as with Kathleen there is probably more to know about Tommy, who knows if he follows them and rescue Joel but I'm almost 100% sure Joel wont die, I'm not watching the trailers before episodes because as mention I want to follow the series and not spoil it every week, over all this was the slowest of the six episodes but not bad at all, very entertaining to keep me interested.
