The Night Manager gave me a quality entertainment this weekend. And I am happy to watch such a spy series after long time.
Since the inception of James Bond - 007 series, everybody loves to see some spy thriller that would keep them on the edge of the seat. I have seen many such movies which tries to replicate the James bond magic however they significantly been failed or the audience does not like what they were served.
After, watching The Night Manager the new web series on #amazon, I feel the director have successfully able to portray a new avatar of James Bond - 007 in form of Jonathan Pine or Tom Hiddleston. The series have *action, drama, story, a love story, betrayal, alliances, guns, and everything that constitutes a super secret spy movie that any audience would love to watch in the 21st century.
The web series is actually based on John le Carré novel. I actually felt that it was the best adaption of the novel ever made. I never read the book, but looking the way the story executed in the web series, I can say no one can ever execute the book so perfectly.
The story starts in Egypt, and also ended at same location. It revolves around The Night Manager Jonathan Pine (Hiddledton) who was an ex British soldier and now worked as hotel manager in a cairo hotel. As the story progress, he find himself in a speculative condition. He was later contacted by a spy operative for his help to spy on international businessman and arms dealor Richard Roper played by Hugh Laurie. Roper is believed to be the leader of secret arms trade. Pine infiltrates Roper's inner circle while keeping his real mission a secret. In all of these he manages to charm few of the ladies like the James bond does. And also get into some action from time to time.
What more interesting was the way each of the starcast performed their respective role. Hats off to such performance and it was not wrong to award them some golden glove. Which the series eventually awarded.
The six episode series is perfectly plotted and moved nicely to keep every audience entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed on a silent Sunday afternoon and recommend everyone to try out my spy taste.
