Introduction
I have been a big fan of the books since they started. In fact I left a small island in Malaysia where I was diving to go the mainland just to go and get one of the books when it came out! I bought two then went back to the island to continue diving! In Brighton we queued up at midnight to get the last 2 books, it was a fun experience as lots of people were dressed up. So yes I am a big fan, I have wanted to go to the WB Harry Potter tour for a long time so it was nice to actually get there. We spent a bit of time watching a few of the films in preparation!
Some people in the Cine TV discord have been asking for some photos....so I thought I would share some! Come and chat films in the discord here...https://discord.gg/wscRNhc4
Photos
Outside the studio tour. The traffic cones were shapped like wizard hats....
There were some green screen areas you could have films/photos done for your memories which of course we did! But it also went into some the the more complicate green screen work done in the film.
The props of all the films are incredible. The sheer scale and detail of everything we saw was amazing, this is a deatheater mask!
Well its the Knight bus....
Harry Potters bedroom, again the details are amazing and behind his pillow were one of the original HP pair of glasses!
One of the first place they lead you too is the great hall. It is big and impressive!
The potion teaching room. yet again the detail in everything in there is incredible, there were self stirring cauldrons and lots of little pots and potions!
Privet Drive! Not that exciting as it is just a house you could not go in! Although we were sat outside drinking Butterbeer which was very sweet and nice!
They had whole sections on make up and special effects and things and how they made different masks!
Gringots bank was an impressive structure indeed.
One of the Gringots Goblins!
They had walls of some of the original concept art! Some really stunning artwork!
Hogwarts....a really massive model!
They had tons and tons of original costumes from the films. Replica Snape robes were £300 in the shop....I nearly got some....
They had a lot of the original sets here is Gryffindor common room
the forbidden forest had its own section...quite scary...until you looked closely at the spiders
Diagon alley was full of the detail you would expect!
The shop....was err quite big.....
Conclusion
It was a great tour and there was so much to see and take in. The way it ran was very smooth and you never had to queue that long and it never felt rushed or hustled. If you are a HP fan than this is somewhere you should definitely go. I would go again to take in all the things I missed. The amount of work that went into the sets, props, masks, effects and costume is amazing and there were so many bits that I would like to look at again. I am going to have to go and watch the films again now and say... I've been there, to that magical place!
PS The shop is very expensive and has thing you never knew existed!
PPS we have got a lot more photos .......
