Kooks and Pogues
As the trailer intro starts with the phrase "From the very beginning it was always Kooks and Pogues, some people with everything, and some with.. nothing. That's the way it's always been. Until now." In short, the Kooks are the more elitist members of OBX, where Outer Banks takes place, and the Pogues are the lower-class members.
I like how they introduce the show "Outer Banks". I have seen the first two seasons, at least so I thought when season 3 was released recently. I decided to watch it again from season one and came to the conclusion that I definitely not saw the whole season 2 but somehow forgot to finish it at the time. This was not a bad thing because this way I could easily binge the show again and make sure I was aware of all the events that led to season 3.
Adventurous series
I personally love a good treasure hunt and this show also revolves around a treasure of gold that the Pogues want to get back from the Kooks. The funny thing is that the one stealing it from them is the father of one of the former Kooks, Sarah Cameron. She tried to get away from her father who seems to be quite the criminal. She's not the only former Kook, Kiara is one of them too but feels Pogue blood running through her veins, although her mother doesn't agree, she joins the Pogues in their adventures to unruffle some mysteries and find back the stolen gold.
Season 3 is about El Dorado
Where the first two seasons were about the gold that was stolen. Season three is about El Dorado, a treasure that's wanted by a rich businessman called Carlos Singh, who they meet while seeking answers. He feels it's his destiny and wants the Pogues to help him on his quest to find the treasure. I don't want to spoil any of the adventures with you so I will not.
Dead people coming to live
One thing that annoyed me throughout this series was the number of people supposed to be dead, who suddenly appeared back in the show again. I mean, I can imagine you have this surprising element in your show once, but not several times. They overdid it with that element and I rolled my eyes a few times, lol.
Either way, it was a nice show to binge, and seeing the end of this season, there will be another season where they will be looking for the missing ship of Edward Teach, this story is best known as "Blackbeard". I'm looking forward to season 4.
Have you seen Outer Banks? Did you like it?
