I finally finished The Day of the Jackal (2024–25 series). It’s not just an assassin vs. detective thriller; it's a packed action movie.

About the Jackal played by Eddie Redmayne;
Right from the start, Eddie Redmayne delivers a chilling portrayal of the assassin known as the Jackal, The master of disguise. Through flashbacks, we learn he was a UK special forces sniper who turned to contract killings after a traumatic incident overseas . He’s unemotional on the job, yet you see glimpses of a man torn between his professional detachment and his home life in Spain with his unsuspecting wife and son . That dual personality kept me hooked. “Is he a ghost? A killer? A husband?”
Opposite him is Bianca, the MI6 agent who’s not just skilled with firearms,she’s obsessive. Played by Lashana Lynch, Bianca is intense and complex. You sense this isn’t just a case to her; it’s become a mission that she's addicted to.
I loved How's the show navigated her life; strained marriage, teenage daughter, and disapproval at work, while still on the greatesy manhunt mission of her life.
She wasn't so bad, but her obsession made me dislike her at a point.
Too obsessed with work, she literally picked work over her family.
Well, her obsession later cost her a lot.
I'd highly recommend "The day of the Jackal". Superb performances from the characters. Definitely one of the best of 2025 so far.
