LIFE IN A DAY 2020
On July 25th, 2020, Ridley Scott and Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald invited people like you and me to send submissions and be part of Life in a Day. A historic documentary movie that captures one day in our world. Selected videos from around the world were made into a YouTube Originals feature film.
Life in a Day started back in 2011 and after 10 long years, they decided to make a sequel. The movie covers lives all over the world as we go thru the challenges of 2020. All covered in a single day raw footage of life struggles, disappointments, hope, love, anger, and a window to the world.
The opening sequence in the movie is so powerful we were all left speechless during the premier. It is something that you would need to see for yourself. The movie also shows how our lives have evolved. A generation of YouTubers, tick tockers, drones, and racism that we are still fighting until this day. The documentary is a non-biased approach and shows both sides of the story.
I was expecting that the movie would focus on the Covid 19 pandemic. To my surprise, it was balanced very well, captured happiness, a celebration of life, success, and humorous at some parts.
Produced by one of my favorite directors Ridley Scott.
I'm pretty sure everyone of us has seen at least one of his movies
- Alien
- Gladiator
- Black Hawk Down
- Prometheus
- The Martian
and a lot more..........
Directed by Kevin Mcdonald

One Second Fame Experience
Out of 324,705 submissions from 192 countries and 65 languages, only 500 filmmakers were selected. I am proud to say that one of my footages was selected. Although it was just a second in the film, my heart was overjoyed to be part of this historic event. Seeing my name in the end credits of a movie from an Award winning director is something I did not expect in this lifetime.
Watch my video below on how I planned my submission, the day of the filming, the long wait of the results, the joy of being notified of being selected and the virtual private screening with the cast and crew.
How would you like to be part of another Life in a Day movie?
If yes? We just all need to wait for another 10 years.
Thanks for spending a little time with me today and stay safe everyone.
