I would love to describe this movie as an hour and fifty minutes of excessive thrills but unfortunately I can't. I recently watched the remake of the movie"The Mummy" and I came to the conclusion that the original version was better.
The mummy was one of the movies that made my childhood. I started watching scary movies at a young age and this was one of the movies I considered scary then. I loved the movie so much that I always wanted to have a taste of its thrill.
The Mummy (2017) is a movie about an Egyptian princess, princess Ahmanet who came into a pact with the god of death in a means to get revenge from her father for giving her position as the heir to the throne to his newborn son.
The god of death gave her certain instructions to follow but she was stopped before she could carry them out. She was mummified and taken to a far away city but evil never rests!.
She found a way to come back and she found her chosen- Nick. She used different humans to accomplish her evil works but did she succeed in the end? I'd leave that for you to find out.
Like I mentioned earlier, in comparison, I would always choose the original version. It's no doubt that the original version had some flaws like bad video quality but the action was more enthralling. The original version was about an Egyptian god who was also stopped while trying to carry out his evil plans
The mummy (2017) starred actors like:
- Princess Ahmanet as Sofia Boutella
- Nick as Tom Cruise
- Jenny as Annabelle Wallis
Nick had a thing for Jenny but he kept liking in denial. We, the viewers knew this but Nick decided to play hard to get, or so. The 2017 version of The Mummy was a great watch because of Nick (Tom Cruise). He acted his role perfectly and left everyone in awe.
Princess Ahmanet on the other hand was after the stone and the dagger that was handed over to her by the god of death. It was a series of actions, searching for the dagger, discovering ancient histories and connecting with people.
The most interesting science for me was the stage part where princess Ahmanet tried to manipulate Nick into giving her back the dagger. I thought that he would give it back to her outrightly but he stabbed himself with it and instantly became a god. Princess Ahmanet wanted to use the power as a weapon of destruction but Nick destroyed her instead. If you want to know how he did it,then you should see the movie.
Here is a trailer of the movie. Quite fascinating.
I would recommend this movie to anyone, especially Tom cruises' fans. It is filled with thrills, action, manipulation, ancient artefacts, and lots more.
