We all know the effect of cocaine on humans but have you ever thought how your dog,cat or pig would behave if they were on cocaine? I'm making a review about the movie; Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks. I guess the name has already given it out but wait, there's more.
Genre: Thriller, comedy and
horror to an extent.
Plot
Cocaine bear is a movie about a bear that came across cocaine due to someone's recklessness. The movie is a perfect description of how "the mistake of one person can cost the lives of so many others".
The black bear is addicted to cocaine. What's that thing they say about bears? If it's a brown bear, lay down but if it's a black bear, you have a higher chance of survival by fighting back". This totally excludes running right? Well, that's what most of the actors were doing and those who didn't run, still got their butt ripped apart.
Many cocaine users portray a violent character and this bear was no different. Human violence is nothing compared to what this bear was doing. The bear was gruesome but still looked cute.
Different sets of people are led to the forest where the bear is. The first included two lovers and hikers who thought the bear was so cute, did the bear think the same about them? The second set includes two recalcitrant kids who are skipping school. The third set includes a mom in search of her missing daughter and two wildlife specialists. The fourth set includes the bad guys who are in search of their cocaine. The fifth set is a police official who got a report that there was cocaine in the forest and the sixth set is made up of the drug lord himself accompanied by a bad cop.
A whole lot of drama transpires as almost everybody gets ripped apart. Funny fact is that you won't see the bear coming, it shows up from the shadows and the next thing you're screaming for your life.
There was a point where I thought some people would escape but bears run as fast as vans right?
Cast
This movie is starred by actors like:
Keri Russell as Sari
Alden Ehrenreich as Eddie
O'Shea Jackson Jr as Daveed
Ray Liotta as Syd
Kristofer Hivju as Olaf
The list of amazing actor keep going.
Review
I like the way the movie started, with a man that was so psyched up about his achievement (smuggling drugs into a country without being caught). He was throwing down the bags of cocaine into a forest while listening to loud music. He put on his parachute as he was about to jump out but mistakenly knocked himself out and that's how he fell to his death with a parachute on.. ludicrous.
Another scene that stood out for me was when the bear confronted the guys in search of the cocaine. Two of them were lying face down on the ground, pretending to be dead. The bear sniffed around them and then plunged down on one of them to sleep. I can't imagine how a bear would feel on the back of a slim human.
This movie portrays betrayal, love, friendship, compassion, pain and a whole lot of other emotions and feelings. My rating would be a 7.5/10. For those who like seeing blood and comic scenes in one movie, then you should really check it out.
With love, wongi ✨
