"Burnout is what happens when you try to avoid being human for too long." - Michael Gungor
From time to time, you must mitigate all that stress you've been carrying around for so long.
No matter how driven you are, with your super-human strength and work ethic, we all still have our thresholds. If you test, and poke that threshold again and again, then inevitably, either your physical health or mental state of mind will crumble.
I was on the brink of "losing it" during the last 20 days of December. Fortunately, I have a few methods of balancing things out, and I can afford to take mini breaks. But for most, it's usually not an option.
Sometimes I wonder, if all this toil and sweat is even worth it or not. It is a gamble after all. Alas, some will keep on trying, but they won't make it. Because sometimes fate has different plans.
So, that is why I've been away these past 7 days or so, replenishing, and just taking it easy. I've worked enough and have lost enough sleep and hair. It was time to visit and recharge myself in the greener and quieter parts of the country.

I spent the last 6 days in Khulna, I still had my marriage anniversary celebrations to take care of; the anniversary date had passed exactly a month ago. Also, I couldn't visit my in-laws in the past year, and they've been asking me to visit for quite a while now. So I had to make it up to them for my absence.
2023 was a busy year, and there was very little "me time" and time to enjoy. I maintained it that
way, I just wanted to work and make some progress. Even though a lot of things didn't work out, fortunately, most of the things did. I wasn't the most consistent this year. Yet, I wasn't too worried about consistency and perfection either. I just did what felt right, I just went with the flow.
And now, in 2024, I say that things turned out quite well. Of course, there is, and always will be room for improvement, but for now, let's not force things, and do what feels right.
Those 5 to 6 days in a very secluded area passed by quickly. My sleep quality was unparalleled. I don't know what it is, the greenery and stillness of the neighboring environment, or the minimal stress from work. I'd say it's a combination; a concoction, a potion with healing capabilities.
I wish I could spend a few more days there, but I have already started receiving calls from work. Things were becoming tough to track from there, due to the lack of my equipment. So, 5 whole days is all I could afford for now.
Hopefully, these 5 days of replenishment will give me a boost for the next 5 to 6 months at least. I want 2024 to be just as busy and productive as 2023, if not more lol.
I'm up for a challenge I guess...
