Good day to all on this glorious ,gorgeous, glowing Green Thursday!
The #farm is growing so many green plants it's hard to decide which ones to show off today.
Our forest of course is in full bloom now and we are surrounded by green leaf trees, like oak, maple,
walnut and cherry, hardwoods. We have stands of giant pines and hemlock, evergreens. All these wonderful trees keep our air clean and fresh, no smog here.😉
But I think I would like to show some of the beautiful and healthy herbs we have been cultivating on our #homestead.
This rosemary plant was started from seed in our window greenhouse. Custom built by to fit exactly into the largest and best sunlit window in our house. Lined with heat mats that bring along the seeds into seedling, with grow lights to promote growth from seedling to a nice sturdy plant that was brought outside in May.
Researchers have found: Rosemary is a very good source of nutrients, it contains a ton of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory composites.
Rosemary is a rich source of vitamin B6, iron and calcium. This "green" herb helps strengthen the immune system. It also has been suggested by researchers in Japan that it can prevent brain aging.
Rosemary has a component called carnosic acid that helps to combat damage caused by free radicals in your brain. It also aids in concentration and memory enhancement.
Parsley: Not just for garnish. Parsley is a strong diuretic, stimulates the release of fluid from the body, helps regulate blood pressure and soothes the nervous system. This beautiful green leafy herb contains calcium, vitamin C, high levels of vitamin A, as well as vitamin K, B12, B9 and a big kick of folic acid and flavonoids. Just what we need to keep our immune systems working at peak.
Also a great digestive aid and breath freshener.
Thyme: I love to add these tiny green leaves to my tea. It not only adds flavor but it too has some health benefits such as; Reducing blood pressure, improving oral health. Thyme oil is one of the strongest, natural antimicrobials, making it a serious weapon against sore throats. It's my go to when that scratchy sort throat hits me. Eating thyme leaves provide natural antibacterial and antifungal benefits.
GREEN is such an awesome color, especially in #nature. There are so many different shades, each one adding beauty to our environment. It's a refreshing color, one that always reminds me to breathe and relax.
Many thanks to our host of #colorchallange, . Such a relaxing and enjoyable way to express the joy of color in our world.
Be at peace my friends, enjoy all the colors that surround your world.🤗
