The Malikussaleh University Senate held an Open Senate Meeting to inaugurate seven professors from various faculties. The inauguration, which took place at the Tgk Abdul Wahab Dahlawy Auditorium at Malikussaleh University, Reuleut Campus, North Aceh, Indonesia, on Monday, April 20, 2026, marked a historic milestone, marking the largest number of professors since Malikussaleh University's founding.
This event served as a basis for social legitimacy for the seven new professors at Malikussaleh University.
According to the Chair of the Malikussaleh University Senate, Deassy Siska, MSc, the seven inaugurated professors come from four faculties: two from the Faculty of Agriculture, two from the Faculty of Economics and Business, two from the Faculty of Law, and one from the Faculty of Engineering.
The seven lecturers inaugurated were Prof. Mawardati as Professor of Agricultural Production Economics, Prof. Laila Nazirah as Professor of Plant Breeding, Prof. Asnawi as Professor of Agricultural Economics, Prof. Ghazali Syamni as Professor of Behavioral Finance, Prof. Faisal as Professor of Islamic Economic Law, Prof. Malahayati as Professor of International Law, and Prof. Arnawan Hasibuan as Professor of Sustainable Energy Engineering Technology.
"This is the largest number of professors inaugurated at Malikussaleh University," said Deassy.
With the inauguration of these seven professors, Malikussaleh University, or Unimal, now has 25 professors.
The Rector of Malikussaleh University, Prof. Dr. Herman Fithra, Asean Eng, hopes that the inauguration of these professors will strengthen the academic atmosphere on campus, as evidenced by the emergence of impactful research.
"The inauguration of these seven professors is not just a personal achievement," said Herman. "Rather, it affirms the moral responsibility to uphold the dignity of science and dedicate it to humanity."
The seven professors had their biographies visually displayed and were given the opportunity to deliver inaugural speeches. The professors delivered scientific speeches, summarizing the results of their research, which took a considerable amount of time and had to be continued after the Dhuhr prayer.
Also present at the event were the Regional Secretary of Aceh Province, Muhammad Nasir, M.Si., and the Rector of UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah, Prof. Dr. Danial Murdani, M.A., professors and lecturers at Malikussaleh University, and invited guests from various institutions.[]
