Head of Aceh Dayah Education Office Receives Audience with Aceh Hijau Foundation and Surabaya YDSF, Discusses Post-Disaster Dayah Recovery and Empowerment Programs The Head of the Aceh Dayah Education Office, Muhsin, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., accompanied by Heads of Divisions within the Aceh Dayah Education Office (DPDA), received a courtesy call and audience from the Aceh Hijau Foundation and the Al-Falah Social Fund Foundation (YDSF) Surabaya.
The event took place in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the DPDA, Aceh, Indonesia, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
The audience discussed various dayah recovery and empowerment programs following the hydrometeorological disaster that struck several areas in Aceh. The disaster damaged dayah facilities and infrastructure and affected the psychological and social well-being of students.
During the meeting, several priority program points needed by Islamic boarding schools (dayah) after the disaster were presented, including the provision of sanitation and clean water, repairing Islamic boarding school facilities and infrastructure, supporting orphans in border Islamic boarding schools, empowering the students economically, and providing trauma healing programs for students.
The Acting Head of the Aceh Islamic Boarding School Education Office, Muhsin, emphasized that the need for sanitation and clean water is a very urgent program, as it directly impacts the health of students and the continuity of Islamic boarding school education activities.
"Post-disaster, many Islamic boarding schools experienced damage to sanitation facilities and clean water networks. This situation significantly impacts the health of students. Therefore, sanitation and clean water programs are a primary need that must be met immediately," said Muhsin.
Furthermore, Muhsin stated that repairing Islamic boarding school facilities and infrastructure, such as classrooms, dormitories, and other supporting facilities, is also a crucial priority to ensure optimal teaching and learning can resume. He also highlighted the importance of special attention for orphans in border Islamic boarding schools, who require ongoing support in both education and welfare.
Furthermore, Muhsin explained that the economic empowerment of Islamic boarding school students (santri) is a strategic part of strengthening the independence of Islamic boarding schools (dayah), while also equipping them with productive skills. Furthermore, trauma healing programs for students are considered crucial to restoring their psychological well-being so they can return to learning comfortably and calmly after the disaster.
"Dayah recovery is not limited to physical development, but also addresses the social, economic, and psychological aspects of the students. Economic empowerment and trauma healing programs are essential so that students can recover and refocus on their studies," he added.
Muhsin welcomed the concern and commitment of the Aceh Hijau Foundation and YDSF Surabaya in supporting the recovery and empowerment of Islamic boarding schools in Aceh. He hoped this hearing could be followed up through concrete, targeted, and sustainable collaboration.
The hearing concluded with a discussion on mapping the needs of affected Islamic boarding schools, program implementation mechanisms, and opportunities for long-term collaboration to support the recovery and strengthening of Islamic boarding school education in Aceh, particularly in border areas and disaster-affected areas.[]
