Hi there. In this short education post, I talk about talented kids and highly skilled young students.
The motivation behind this post is from a Grade three student I work with online in private educational services. Her math is quite good for her age. What impresses me more is that she types fast for her age. Maybe around 30 to 40 words per minute (WPM) which is about the adult average speed for typing. I found out recently that her school does focus a bit on computer skills at an early age.
On Highly Skilled Students
From time to time you do meet some highly skilled students in the education space. You would meet them as a fellow student, teacher, educator, parent or friend. There is something about these talented kids that separates them from the rest. It could be either their:
- work ethic
- level of focus
- level of discipline
- upbringing from parents
- natural talent
- and/or their desire to learn
Learning From Highly Skilled Students
Regardless of age I think we can all learn things from each other. Seeing a young student be a quick and efficient learner could give you a wake up call to take more action and do some learning yourself. You can also use some of the learning strategies that some students use into your own learning. It is important to remember that learning can occur anywhere and not just in a classroom.
