ETHICS AND MORALITY
Ethics and morals are two terms that we live with on a daily basis, and we often fall into confusion as to their meaning. I would like to share with you some descriptions of what ethics and morals are so that we have some clarity and reflection.
“Ethics is the theory or science of the moral behavior of humans in society”
"Morality is a set of freely and consciously accepted norms that regulate the individual and social conduct of human beings." A. Sánchez Vázquez: Ethics. Critical Ed., B, 1981.
Now if we look at the meaning of the word "ethics" that comes from the Greek "êthos" which means custom.
And morality comes from the Latin word “mos”, mores, which means custom, so what we call morality has to do with the habits or customs of the human being.
We see that both from their origins tend to be the same.

On the other hand, from the philosophical point of view, ethics and morality do not have the same meaning:
“It is thus understood that morality is the set of behaviors and norms that we usually accept as valid; and that ethics is the reflection on why we consider them valid, which includes the comparison with other morals that different people have. According to this distinction, morality or morality is the object of ethics...ethics is moral philosophy or philosophical discipline that studies moral rules and their foundation. Francisco Fernandez Ox. Bellaterra 2000.

We agree a little more with the previous definition about "ethics studies moral rules".
On the other hand, we see that ethics deals with what is good or right for the human condition, regardless of what has been customary or assumed by society.
In relation to other disciplines we present the following:
Ethics and psychology
Psychology
Studies human actions.Ethics
It is interested in how this act should be.
Ethics and sociology
Sociology
Studies the behavior of man in society.Ethics
When referring to society, it is interested in how man's behavior should be.
Ethics and Pedagogy
Pedagogy
Study of education.Ethics
It dictates what must be done, while education shows how we can achieve what is proposed by ethics.
In short, we see that ethics goes more to the perspective of how man should be, the behavior of man before any act.
According to Machiavelli: "The end justifies the means", Machiavelli conceives that the human being is always the same as nature in general is always identical, consequently so are history and politics.
The vision of ethics according to Machiavelli is nothing more than the renewal of the state in societies, because the state is in charge of ordering the coexistence of men.
We can understand and globalize a more accurate concept of these two terms. Ethics assesses and studies what is correct or not, within the correct behavior patterns that must be put into practice. Morality is a set of values, norms and behaviors accepted by a society that serve to correctly structure that particular society and promote balance between the people that make it up.
Let's see then a slightly more successful example:
Moral Example. Helping an old man who can barely walk to cross a street would be another example of morality, since honesty is a highly valued social value.
Example of ethics. When an individual reflects on what is right or wrong, based on their own beliefs, it would be included within ethics.
We see that we already have a little more clarity about the terms now, well, at present we see how the social environment goes so fast that man has had to adapt to social changes full of anti-values, he is losing the sense of the common good . We see how wars become more acute, clashes of power, the sensitivity of helping others is being lost. Man against man and the struggle for survival is consuming us, which is turning us into immoral people for living at the expense of anything.
That is why the awareness of values must reign in the home, our children are the basis of the future conduct of society, if we lay these foundations well and fill them with good examples, values, a sense of good for one another, we will have a just society with principles.
