Hello everyone it’s Tuesday and the second day of the week, im hoping you’re not already tired because I am Déjà.
So let’s quickly get into today’s French word which is DÉJÀ.
This is a very simple word but very useful for our everyday speech and writing or conversations, if you read the very first paragraph again you will understand what I mean by Déjà When I said its a new week but I am tired Déjà.
French is exceptions Whwn we talk about the rules Thats why I didn’t say I am Déjà tired but instead I put Déjà before tired. Now what does this mean? Déjà means already.
Very simple but it actually means a lot and is an important word which is truly useful.
Most times we use words like this effortlessly without even recognizing. Pronunciation is like day-zha or day jha it has a sharp tone on the second syllable but sounds sweet when you do say it like the French people.
Take these few examples into consideration
Je l’ai déjà fait — I have already done it
Il est déjà là — He is already there
This word is very useful when talking about time and completion and also it gives a sense that something has happened sooner than expected.
Like I said earlier Déjà may look small, but it adds strong meaning to a sentence.
Thank you for taking your time to read this lesson.
I hope we are all moving forward with the French classes.
Bon chance! (GOODLUCK)
