Happy new week! Lovely #friends, #education lovers and everyone on #hive. It’s Monday, very early so I thought about giving us a quick one to read through before fighting MR Monday. lol 😜
Today’s French word is chercher, quick, easy and simple. Chercher, pronounced like « shershey » I chose this word because it’s very important to us all and the meaning related with all of us, we are all looking for something.
Chercher 👀 means to search or to look 👀 for something.
You will hear this word very often in everyday French conversations because people are always looking for something as it is inevitable, right now we are looking for things and some are looking to be at work.. sometimes we could be looking for something simple like keys, pair of shoes or clothes but some other times it gets real turns to be something deeper like opportunity, answers or even direction in life.
For example:
Je cherche mon téléphone — I am looking for my phone.
Or someone might say:
Je cherche du travail — I am looking for work.
I love the word ss it’s relatable with humans, it has nothing in common with inanimate objects, I don’t think a table will look for me, it centers around the nature of humans which constantly keeps us on the look out for something.
Languages are very good at revealing truth about life through idioms, poems , stories and even words!
That’s why today’s lesson is short and important as we all got here because we searched for something, curiosity is nice, it’s a very efficient engine to fueling knowledge and ideas.
The best journey of life begins with a search.
Thank you for reading.
