Happy weekend my friends! i wish you all a wonderful saturday and a bright week ahead of you. I am teaching a quite easy topic today and hopefully we can get to understand it and the use properly.
Today’s word is CHOISIR, it belongs to the class of regualr verbs which is specifically IR Verbs. Remember i taught us we have different kinds of verbs, regular and irregular. So Choisir is an action word which means to choose. It looks like a simple word anyways but when you think about it deeply, choice is something we use every single day without even noticing it, that is how important CHOISIR is.
Every action you take is based on a decision, your words, thoughts and all that comes from choice, that is what makes this word more meaningful than it first appears. I love the pronounciation of this one because the pronunciation is soft, it sounds like shwa-zeer.
here is how you can quickly conjugate the verb:
Je choisis means I choose, and nous choisissons means we choose.
French words often carry more than just meaning i have said so many times, it is very deep rooted into their culture and beliefs. This word reminds you that life is not only about what happens to you, but also about how you respond.
The Cheat Sheet (Present Tense)
To use it, just drop the -ir and add these endings:
Je choisis (shwa-zee): I choose
Tu choisis (shwa-zee): You choose
Il/Elle choisit (shwa-zee): He/She chooses
Nous choisissons (shwa-zee-sohn): We choose
Vous choisissez (shwa-zee-say): You (all) choose
Ils choisissent (shwa-zeess): They choose
