HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION AND ITS IMPORTANCE

What is Human Computer Interaction?

Human-Computer Interaction is an interdisciplinary field of study interested in design, evaluation and implementation of interactive technology. Since Human-Computer Interaction studies the interaction between human and computer, it is associated with the study fields such as human behavior, psychology, cognitive science, computer science and software engineering as well as ergonomics, graphic and industrial design, sociology, anthropology and educational sciences.

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) has four main components:

1. User

An individual user, a group of users working together. An appreciation of the way people's sensory systems.

2. Task

Tasks are characterized as the means by which work is performed. A general systems modeling approach is introduced which divides the assumed world it models into work systems and the application domains that are changed by work performance.

3. Tools/ Interface

Tools can range from programming languages to highly sophisticated software environments which support programming. characteristics in such a way as to aid the design and implementation process. In general terms HCI tools and methods assist developers to achieve systems which are usable.

4. Context

It often refers to the purpose of the human-computer interaction.

Why is it important?

It will make the user's experience more enjoyable in the long term. As a result, having someone with HCI skills involved in all phases of any product or system development is critical. HCI is also necessary to prevent goods or projects from failing completely.

As of today, most task are often relied on technology, well, everything can be done at ease and really convenient using high-technology tools. So it is really necessary to be familiar and to be able to use computers, considering that we belong to millennial era where in technology is expounding and is playing major roles in accomplishing tasks.
